Couldn't find another great for this book but I'm in absolute heaven reading it!

Does anyone else just want to geek out over it?! GrinBlush

I've just finished it too. Best Christmas present by a mile, I've loved every page.
I now want to be let loose in a big Boots and need to track down some Lanolips.

I'm about 6 pages in and got totally choked up at the lush/cosmetics-to-go - not a brand I like but god the packaging used to be amazing. It was a real carefree highlight of my childhood when a parcel arrived during some really tough years.

Is it really good? I wasn't very impressed with her first book.

It's totally different.

How different? Was so disappointed with their first one.

I thought her first book was a glorified cosmopolitan article. Nothing I didn't already know, but I'm very into make up. If this is different then I may consider it.

I've got it but I only pick it up and read it in bits, rather than cover to cover. The first book was very basic and I didn't enjoy it very much but this is much more personal and enjoyable. Less of a 'manual' and more of a memoir and via the medium of iconic products written by someone with an obvious love of beauty. It feels like SH had more control over the content of this book. It feels more like 'her voice' (going by the Guardian column and her stuff on SH beauty).

It doesn't necessarily teach you anything new re beauty but it's nice to read and the photography style is fab (imo).

Have a flick through it in Waterstones, not got much to lose. Don't get it on kindle though. The photography is half the pleasure of it.

Ooh I too am absolutely loving it! Already have a list of new things to try Grin and I love her style of writing - some of her descriptions and memories are so evocative.

I got it for Christmas and I felt Ike I'd read a lot of it before - which I also thought about the first book. It's a nice thing to flick through, but I would be disappointed if I had paid the publishers' price (£26!) for it.

It's a brilliant book, I was reading each page either nodding and agreeing as it was something I'd used and loved or mentally adding the product to my 'want to try' list!

Ooh I've got this waiting on the shelf. I liked the first one but yes, I suppose quite entry level if you already know your stuff.

I love Sali. I catch myself saying to beauty counter staff "Sali Hughes says..." far to often.

Dh gave me this for my birthday last week. I'm really enjoying it!

£13 isn't bad. It does look really nice, the photography and everything. I felt the same as Judy and Dame about the first one but this sounds like I'd enjoy it more.
