Dark circles and eye bags.. Help

My eyes are hideous I look like I've been up all night even after a good nights sleep, eye bags and black circles.. Grim!
Any good creams out there? any recommendations would be great. Thank you :-)

I don't think anything works to be honest. At least not if they're hereditary. People whose dark shadows are the result of tiredness might have more luck. I've had them since my teens, but lately have been more difficult to minimise with makeup.

Gracious, when your boobs touch your kneecaps, when your pelvic floor drags along the ground, when you grow a beard start worrying! Meantime a few eye bags - use some cucumber and creme de la mer.

I was probably born with bags under my eyes. From my earliest years my mother blamed them on: not enough sleep, constipation, not enough fresh air, always had my nose in a book. Accept them, I have.

I have this - huge tear troughs which are blue-grey in colour. But if I put on concealer or even just foundation, it accentuates the fine crepey lines which are now developing. I'm 43 and feel like I look 63, and it's all the more annoying that the rest of my face is almost unlined! I've been seriously considering going to a cosmetic surgeon to see if anything can be done, not that I could really afford it.

have you tried that green colour correction cream op? I get dark shadows under my eyes and I use that in combination with concealer and I use Estée Lauder double wear which is marvellous stuff and covers a multitude of sins.

Creme de la mer isn't anything special. Look at tear trough fillers.

The fillers would need to be re-done all the time though wouldn't they? I'm sure there's a thread about them saying they cost a few hundred and it's not a one-off treatment.

If you're fair you need Revlon eye primer -or it's brightening qualities are quite miraculous!

If it's not hereditary, the dark circles can be caused by low iron.

Water, Good eye cream and a corrector + concealer combo is your friend. Love love bobbi brown peach corrector.

For morning depuffing, The Ordinary caffeine eye serum is good and significantly cheaper than £100. Keep in the fridge for extra strength. Also, try using an extra pillow.

There's no cream that'll get rid of them but an orange colour corrector (try LA Girl) with a good concealer over the top can do wonders.

Look up YouTube videos for makeup tricks on how to hide dark circles. Also nyx in boots do a range of coloured concealers inc orangey concealers and a pure orange colour corrector. Around £5 so worth a try

Try Benefit and Bobbi Brown eye colour correctors. I have hideous dark purple circles but these correctors neutralise it. Wonderful products. I then add a concealer on top. Go to a counter and get a makeup artist to test them out on you. Life changing for me and correctors would be the product I would bring to on a desert island!

You can't get rid of black undereye but you can improve the condition. Lots of water. Fruit and carrots to improve skin illuminosity. Advice from a well known qualified and scientific dermatologist from YouTube

YouTube goss make up artist & he tells you where to apply concealer to disguise bags in particular - he says if you put it in wrong place, it accentuates them.

Re the darkness, i would also recommend trying colour correcting - NYX do a good palette that boots sell online - have an afternoon of youtubing & experimenting!

Although I don't think it's actually meant as a concealer, I really like Benefit ShyBeam for under the eyes. It highlights without being 'shiny'. Everything I tried before just reflected light and seemed to emphasise the bags. The ShyBeam brightens and covers the dark bits without making them leap out at you. It's salmon-y coloured though so probably only works if you have very pale/pinkish skin....

Honestly the only thing that improves them for me is cutting out refined sugar. Full stop cutting it out, which over Xmas has gone out of the window! It's not a simple or easy solution thought, but my skin is totally different when I'm not eating it. Hmmf.

I use an Arbonne under eye cream. It's reduced the bags under my eyes and they look less dark.

Thanks everyone lots of suggestions to try! Think I will go and visit the make up counters I'm rubbish with putting it on so guidance is much needed!!! I had thought I'm not drinking enough water so increasing my intake to hopefully help a bit! Determined to try and minimise them as best I can! xx
