Is there some sort of face product that evens out irregularities in ton/e but that isn't foundation?

I think I might be looking for something that doesn't exist, unless someone more knowledgeable (ie, most people :)) can inform me otherwise.

I don't want a foundation or a primer I don't think - I do wear them (Bobby Brown) but I feel quite 'made up' in them and tend to wear only for going out. I've tried bb creams in the past but without much success. Same with tinted moisturizer or products like Clarins flash balm.

I think I'm looking for something very easy and quick to apply every day - so no faffing about spreading evenly or blending in, something that evens out my skin tone. I have it in my head that there used to be a product that you put on and it sort of acclimatised to your skin colour so you didn't need to worry about choosing the right colour - but I might have totally made that up!

Can anyone suggest anything please?

Porefessional is a primer but with a v slight tint and can be worn alone, without foundation. It's lovely but v expensive for a tiny tube.

I've just bought the No 7 pore reducing primer and v impressed so far. It's not got any colour but does even out skintone.

The Estee Lauder CC Cream vaguely matches your description, try it out though as it is different from other CC creams and the coverage is very lightweight.

I had a sample of a foundation that was supposed to adjust to your skin tone and it accentuated the unevenness. I use a Bobbi Brown BB cream which helps a bit but not sure there is a solution

Will watch with interest

This is brilliant, really easy to apply and gives a lovely light glowy finish. I have quite a lot of redness in my skin tone and this works wonders.

The BareMinerals Complexion Rescue does just that for me. Evens my skin out a tad and adds a fabulous glow but next to no coverage.

I do think you have to have "good" skin for it to work. It wouldn't sort eye bags or pimples. But it works for me.

There's a bunch reviewed here: www.vogue.co.uk/gallery/best-cc-cream-reviews

I use the L'Oréal nude magique and it's pretty good for the price.

The palest clinique cc moisture surge is too dark on me.

I can tell it would be good though.

You need Erborian HD CC cream. It comes out white and adjusts to your skin tone, it's brilliant at evening the complexion. Available from Space NK.

This stuff is great and you only need to apply a small amount - pricey but lasts

I think L'Oréal eau de teint might be discontinued.

I use La Roche Posay Effaclar BB Blur in place of foundation.

Could you mean the boots intelligent colour foundation? You buy in light, medium or dark and it blends to your skin tone. Goes on nicely too.

I second Benefit Porefessional. I hate the feeling of foundation on my skin and only wear it once in a blue moon. I use the Benefit stuff daily on my t zone with a light dusting of translucent powder on top.

this www.esteelauder.co.uk/product/688/13160/product-catalog/skincare/by-category/moisturisers/daywear/multi-protection-anti-oxidant-sheer-tint-release-moisturizer-spf-15 it's amazing. It's lighter than a bb or cc cream, less than even a tinted moisturiser - i rave about it - i need a little more coverage in winter but only use this in summer. You don't need to blend or anything, apply just like a moisturiser and it releases a very sheer tint to even out skin tone.

Sensai Bronzing Gel. Sheer and not really bronzing, just instant healthiness in a water based gel, and in a tube. So easy, you don't even need a mirror to apply it. Doesn't streak or clog.

Thanks a lot for all the suggestions and links. I had a look through and am going to give the Erborian CC cream a try first - it was a toss up between that and the Estee Lauder day cream.

I use avon BB cream and then pop a touch of bare minerals on the apples of cheeks or anywhere that needs a touch more coverage. A then a quick sweep of de-shining powder

I now use Nivea primer with Nivea tinted moisturiser on top. The moisturiser alone was too heavy but with primer first, it glides on and it barely noticeable. I've had a few compliments for the first time in ages!
