I'm willing to buy anything to make my nails thicker and stronger

My nails and thin, peel easily, and snap quickly once they reach any sort of decent length.

I've decided I want to get them thicker and stronger and I don't care how much it costs!

Does anyone know of a miracle treatment?

I've already tried Nail Envy - didn't work, made them peel even more, and Mavala Scientifique - again simply didn't work.

Thank you! Smile

I use Sally Hanson nailgrowth miracle in mine. I also find wearing nail varnish protects them so they are fabulous at the moment as it's been the party season.

Nailtiques Formula 2 is fantastic for peeling nails. I've tried several others but this is the only thing that works for me.

I don't know anything that works like that as such, however I have recently discovered shellac which is fantastic and has really helped me grow my nails nice and long because it's strong and doesn't chip and it lasts a long time. My nails are absolutely useless so I tried this when they were pretty short and they've grown since I've had it done (normally they would all have just chipped/flaked and then snapped off). I'm planning on going back in a week to get something less Christmassy put on to my now much longer nails.

Imedeen hair and nail tablets work wonders for mine. They are expensive but always on 3 for 2 at boots in the vitamins section and last ages. They also make my hair grow quicker (which is annoying as I colour my hair). So I take them every other day for maintenance but if you want to blitz your nails I'd take them every day and you should see a difference in a few weeks.

Eat a good diet (I'm not suggesting you don't do this already by the way!). Lots of real unprocessed food. Wink

Hi OP this stuff works for me: www.marksandspencer.com/mani-mask-10ml/p/p22434412?&pdpredirect

I have flaky nails and if I use this stuff regularly they end up so long I have to cut them as they're annoying!

It's a bit weird - a nail varnish that almost instnatly dries matt and almost invisible.

My nails sound just like yours. I can recommend Nailtiques Formula 2 and CND Solar Oil Nail and Cuticle Conditioner. Using the two together has made a massive difference to my nails.

My nails were like this until I starting taking prenatal vitamins. Now they are growing really fast and are super strong. I'm sure any multi vitamin would help.

I've started rubbing plain old almond oil into mine and it's stopped them from splitting.

apparently a cube of Jelly eaten daily is excellent for hair and nail growth. Am going to give this a try as my nails are crap but I work in a job that I can't grow them anyway but my hair is thin and never grows beyond shoulder length.

Like MrsG mine improved drastically taking preconception vitamins. And also making sure I was eating enough protein. Have to chop them down regularly as they get too long now.

Perfectil multi vitamins made a big difference to my nails.

Don't paint them or use acrylics - keep them natural and rub in nail and cuticle oil daily. That and a good diet, possibly with a skin, hair and nail supplement.

Wear rubber gloves for all washing up and cleaning jobs -that's the thing that makes the biggest difference for me.

Surprised nail envy didn't work for you, that's normally my go to recommendation! In that case I'd go for an oil. I use OPI Avoplex, but any oil will do really. Massage in at least once a day but preferably a few times.

If you wear polish make sure you're removing it properly (absolutely no picking it off). When you file your nails only go in one direction at a time, no sawing back and fore.

Sally Hansen cuticle oil applied every night. Hand and nail cream applied after every hand washing.
Rubber gloves for any washing of toilets etc as the detergents destroy the nails

I've just bought Eveline diamond strengthener. I've tripped Nail envy and nailtiques etc and none of them work. The r views for this are great, fingers crossed it makes a difference.

If I don't use my handcream regularly my nails flake and split.

I use Body Shop Hemp handcream liberally at night, not quite as much on a morning. Occasionally top up during the day if I have been doing anything dirty (painting, gardening).

Each time I stop using it (when I am gifted handcream for birthdays) I remover why I need to use it.

Seriously is worth a try.

Perfectil helped me a lot. My nails were always peeling. I would not be surprised Boots own brand (or equivalent) probably has the same ingredients. Must be similar principles as the prenatal vitamins.

Also, using one of those glass nail files has helped my peeling nails immensely.
