Lost a scarf, anyone recognise this description?

It's light grey with dark grey/black leopard print. Very long. Thin material.

It also has some red writing (it looks like writing, but could just be some random design? I didn't notice what it said) on one bottom corner of the scarf.

It could be designer, but I'm not sure.

My friend lent it to me while I'm away on holiday for a few days and it was lost or stolen from me. I've tried ringing all the places I've been but no ones seen it so I think it's gone forever. I'm going to buy her a replacement one or a new scarf if she wants something different, and will ask her what the scarf is but was just wondering if anyone recognised the (very vague) description!

Oh dear. It sounds a bit likes LouisVuitton leopard print scarf. They are very expensive if they are even still available. Flowers

Fuck me that's expensive! I'm surprised that your friend lent it to you without telling you how precious it is, I think I'd keep it in the hotel safe and never go out with it! Grin

Check it's the real deal before you go out spending! LV designs are often copied.

Wasn't this THE Mumsnet scarf about four years ago? People were buying them on eBay for about £10 (obviously fakes not real LV) after a thread on here.

I think something that expensive would merit claiming on your travel insurance? Or home contents if you are covered for loss outside the home?

God I hope it's a fake. The writing was definitely red, not pink. Would that mean it's a fake? She never mentioned anything about it being really expensive.

She does have a mix of real designer and dupes, so it's definitely not outside the realm of possibility that it's fake.

If it's not, would I be able to claim off my travel insurance seeing as it's not my possession?

I had one of the Mumsnet scarves very much as you describe back in the day. It had a viscose-y feel, not cashmere mix as in the LV one. May be worth having a look on EBay.
