anyone had their teeth whitened?

If so did you do it at home with a kit or get it done at your dentists? Was it expensive and did it work?

Got to do something about my extremely dodgy coloured teeth, years of tea drinking have finally taken their toll, I dont want them fluoro-white a la Ross in Friends, just lighter than they are now!!

Any advice???

Did mine through the dentist for my wedding 6 years ago - worked really well, and cost about 300quid at the time.

I use PearlDrops for any remedial stuff now, which is definitely worth a go if you haven't tried them already.

I got moulds made through the dentist and the whitening stuff from them as well, brought my teeth up about 7 shades, do it once a week now for upkeep.
Cost about £150, will be less when i need more whitening stuff as already have moulds.

Have used home whitening stuff and think its a waste of time.

Had mine done at Selfridges - called the Bright smile treatment - good results but could only eat white foods for a couple of days afterwards. Cost about £500 but was a few years ago and so the price could be lower now.

Recently used the smile company - for £99 you get trays which fit your teeth and peroxide gels. You are sent a kit to take a mould of your teeth which you send back and in a couple of days they send back the trays. You put in the trays and the peroxide for a few hours a day or overnight and after a week you have really good results. I would highly recommend them.the smile place

i used britesmile at home to get my incisors the same shade as the rest of my teeth - they'd always been pretty yellowish

was going to go for the laser treatment at the dentists but was advised against it as it would have lightened all my teeth - so there would still have been a marked diff between my incisors and the rest

was pleased with results - stopped after 10 nights as had achieved what i wanted to

there are downsides in continuing too long - any white flecks get whiter,and also if ou have a greyish transparency to any of your teeth, that gets worse

My BF did. It was a present from her mum. Her teeth were white anyway so can't see much difference but her sister apparently needed it more and was v.pleased with results. Horribly expensive though. And it's a slippery slope to having your butt hole bleached you know...

I have had mine done twice. I used the bleaching trays method (had some trays made to measure at dentists) and you then sit about the house with some bleach in them for a while over a period of about 10 days or so, and then when you need a top up. That was very successful and I was very pleased with it (though it cost a bomb, but I do have the trays now for life). I then decided to try Britesmile at christmas last year and it wa awful. My teeth went white, but it didn't last long (they are still white, but the initial brightness went quite soon) and it hurt like hell!!!!!
I'd recommend the tray method, it's a bit of a faff about but you control how white you want to go.
