Best Concealer? (Cruelty-Free If Possible)

I had my makeup done by a No.7 lady, Went back recently to buy the concealer to the colour I was matched to (Cool Vanilla) and have used it a few times now on my under-eye area over the foundation and it keeps looking awful! The colour doesn't seem to fit as well with the foundation as you would expect, or maybe I'm just not applying enough foundation to my under-eye area as my under-eye area is particularly pale? Then it has a funny grey-ish tinge to it I think and doesn't really cover up my awful dark circles and doesn't blend well at all. Then after awhile it settles into all the wrinkles/creases I have and goes all patchy and horrible! I'm only 23 but my under-eye area is not a pretty picture lol so I really need something to help my confidence as I'm absolutely not impressed with this.

Any recommendations for a good cruelty-free concealer, mainly for my under-eye area but also to help top up when my acne gives me horrid big red spots?

Under eye concealer needs a different tone to the shade you'd use to cover blemishes - usually something warmer to counteract the blue-grey under eye tones. You mention that the colour looks grey/ashy, which would bear this out. Can you keep the concealer for blemishes, but go back and explain you need something to specifically brighten under eyes? Quite a few brands make correctors for this purpose, you usually need a yellow /orange/ salmony shade depending on your skin tone and dark circle tones. Nyx (also in boots) have a decent range of shades. Or try a teeny dab of cream blush or eye-shadow just to get an idea of how it works?

So should I buy a colour corrector pen to go underneath the concealer as well? Confused I think I know what you mean about the more yellowy/peachy shade as I used to use the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer and that hadn't a more peachy tone for under the eyes and worked a lot better.

I really like the Urban Decay complete coverage concealer. It's the only concealer I use now.

I'm 99% sure that Urban Decay is cruelty free but I might be wrong.

Ere Perez. Comes in a little compact that is split in two, one lighter side, one darker, so you can blend for different skin areas/time of year. It has a yellow undertone and is cruelty free.

There is a light compact and a dark compact I think. It really stays put, doesn't do that thing we're it sinks into pores to leave little pale dots against reddish skin.

I think Urban Decay is cruelty free in itself but is owned by a parent company that tests, but I might be mistaken.
