If you are a size 12 or 10 but have really curvy hips and arse...

... Have you found jeans that fit you? I mean really really actually fit you, not ones that squeeze your bum flat, or squish your hip flesh in awkwardly, or worse still, fit your bottom half fine but you get that dreaded huge gap at your back above the bum. Sad

I have never ever owned a pair of jeans that fit like a proverbial glove. Ever.

There must be one pair out there for me surely??

M&S 5 pocket jegging is the only thing I've found that comes close since Levi broke my heart after bringing out and then stopping the bold curve line.

They also come in petite.

I've found Whistles skinny jeans to be a great fit! (They're called skinny jeans but aren't actually a skinny fit all the way down to the ankle). I'm a curvy bummed size 10, with a small waist.
The only down side is that they're expensive. £85-90, but they are good quality and wash well. I buy mine when they have a 25% offer on.
Jeans shopping is a nightmare isn't it?! Hopefully it's worth you checking them out to see if they'll suit you.

Sadly I found one pair of jeans in my shape, bought in France about 16 years ago. Lee branded. Never found that shape again despite looking all over the place. They've also survived my lack of thigh gap remarkably well - possibly because they are purple.

Gap Long and Lean were a decent compromise when I was more of a uk 12-14 rather than my current 10-12.

Sainsbury's straight cut isn't bad either. Never managed to get my thighs into designer jeans and refuse to apend too much due to above mentioned lack of thigh gap!

Have you tried Gap boot cut? Annoyingly, the same size fits perfectly or badly depending on the colour - for some reason the black ones are never right but the dark denim ones often are.

I am a 10 waist but 12 bum/hips and find a high-waisted jean is best for me. My current favourites are All Saints Stilt - they do a 29 waist which I think is an 11, and it's a perfect fit on me. I agree with the poster above on Whistles, although I do prefer a higher waist. At the cheaper end, Oasis Lily - also high-waisted - are a good fit, very similar to All Saints, but fade terribly. (I stocked up on the All Saints jeans when they were doing 30% off for Black Friday, but to be honest would rather spend a bit more than buy several ill-fitting/fading cheaper pairs.)

M&S I've found the last few years to be good for jeans (and trousers). I don't understand why more shops/brands don't cater for those of us who are big of thigh and bum but small of waist! Good luck with your search.

Interested to see other people's answers. Coincidentally took my measurements this morning; 38" widest bum, 28" narrowest waist. Around a size 12 most places? Anyway, my bum is always the limiting factor in my jeans.

Currently wearing M&S size 12 'Straight' after trying on almost every pair in the shop.

For your entertainment, here is a photo of me trying on Tesco (F&F) jeans, what you can't see is that the bum is pretty much the right size.

Well this doesn't inspire much confidence. Why is it so hard to buy well fitted jeans, like really, why?? I tend to lean towards a 'relaxed' fit type because usually thwy are designed to have more room in bum and hip area to allow that loose and baggy look. Me, I just fill them out like they are skinnies Blush. Anyway, I bought m&s relaxed skinnies. Thought not bad and took labels off. After a few hours of wearing them, they are just horrible. They fit and feel wrong. Squish and squash in all the wrong places and just are urgh. So fed up. I'm half black. I've had this struggle since forever, as long as I can remember.

M&S sculpt & lift skinny jean. Fit like a glove. And look good too.

NotAMammy preach sister!! M&S 5 pocket jeggings (now rebranded as super skinny) are the holy grail in pear shaped skinny jeans.

Watching this thread with interest. I've never found a really good fitting pair and have exactly this problem. My legs are also quite short which also adds to the problem. I often buy 7/8 length or cropped now and find they are the right length for my stubby pins!

I don't know, I think the modern trend is for larger waists in comparison to bums, so everyone is cutting their clothes for that? Sadly my body doesn't seem to want to follow the trend and is striking out on its own path. Hmm

YES! I have always struggled with this - relatively big hips and bum, little waist. Levi's Demi curve or full curve fit like an absolute treat AND last for a few wears before they lose shape! Can't recommend them enough, would never buy anything else now.

NeedATrim I tried those on and was like, SERIOUSLY?! I have to take a photo of this. Grin

(and I'm in kind of an awkward pose as the jeans started to fall down as soon as I let go of them)

Try some good quality jeggings. I was against them so tried 4 pairs of normal jeans before I gave in because I felt bad telling the shop assistant I didn't want to! They look like just normal jeans and because they're tight and stretchy they fit where they need to. And they don't lose shape after a couple of wears... I think I'm going to go buy enough to last my entire life.

accio I am pretty similar measurement wise to you (37 hips, 27 waist) so my picks might be some use? I think a standard 12 is a 30 waist, which is the problem.

Topshop Jaime jeans. High waisted skinnier. Great fit.

M&S, honestly. DD and I are both short and curvy 10, she lives in black sculpt&lift skinnies, I go for slim leg. Used to always get the per una roma - get over the prejudice against per una, they do jeans designed for women with waists and hips.

chickyduck thanks for letting me know about the name change. I need to get a couple new pairs to last me over the jeans and jumpers Christmas period and would be in bits if I couldn't find them!
I have the added joy of having chunky calves so basically everything below the waist is a size 12-14, but a 10 waist. And I'm a shortarse. And full of tea.
I AM a little teapot.

I feel your pain/ squashed bum as someone who also has a large bum/thighs (38'') and small waist (26'') when not pregnant. I have an additional problem which is a very long crotch/rise (due to being tall) and so usually content myself with high-rise jeans in a size too big for my actual waist stopping a few inches short of it. I have literally never owned a pair of jeans that fit properly. Having said that, some of the more doable options have been: Zara (everything there seems cut for the narrow of waist and large of hip to me); Rag and Bone (high waist, very soft material so no muffin top, and make my bum look OK), GAP skinnies in longer length and a very small size (find GAP jeans come up huge compared to their other clothes and stretch a lot), the American brand Lucky Brand (these might actually be my best-fitting jeans).
