Help! Every foundation seems to turn me orange!

I'm trying to find a new foundation, and I've been colour matched at MAC, Clinique and clarins. Every time the colour looks fine when they put it on, but within an hour or so it goes orange - especially on my forehead. Why is this happening?! Any tips on foundations I should try? I've already had one costly mistake with MAC Sad Any advice would be great.

Your skin pH or lipids oxidize the foundation.

I've had that problem with a few liquid foundations, I've gone back to compact foundation and that seems to be fine. Try before you buy though!

It's called oxidising. It happens to me too. The oil on your face reacts with it ( I think) and makes it change colour. Ask for samples and then wear it for a full day before you buy. Bring it back to MAC and they will exchange it.

Have you tried a powder one like bare minerals or laura geller? These are all I will use now

I used to have this problem so I now buy neutral toned foundationbone or two shades lighter so when I've applied it, it matches my skin Smile

Thanks everyone - sounds like it's my skin sabotaging me then Wink. Frustrated, any tips on which compacts to try? I've tried Laura geller and I do like it but the shade is a bit too yellow for me, and I found bare minerals good but too messy for me. So any other ideas of ones to try would be great - thank you all.

Thethoughtfox do you think MAC will exchange it even though I've used it?

I've used Sensai Total Finish (palest shade, I'm pale and neutral/cool) and love it but have also heard good things about Max Factor Facefinity.

Having done the full rounds of high end foundations like Nars, Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, Clarins etc. I went to Boots No7 last week. The assistant analysed my face colour with a little machine (took about 5 secs compared with the usual 10 mins of faffing of stripes on the jawline) then cheerfully applied it all over and gave me a three day sample in a pot. So no expensive mistakes, you could just try it to see if it goes orange on you?
