Tell me about your outfits. I need to revamp my wardrobe. I'm 5'2" and a size 8. I don't have a lot of time to get ready in a morning as have an 18mo and a 7yo.
I'd like to look more funky. I'm in a rut of wearing skinny jeans,Stan smiths and Chelsea boots with a parka or a long cardigan. Can you give me advice to revamp my wardrobe for winter. I want to look fashionable.

I'm living in chunky tights, pinafore dresses (cord and velvet) and ankle boots. Love Oasis for chelsea boots, pinafores from Next, DP's, Tesco (of all unlikely places) and Oasis again. Sometimes break with tradition and wear a mini with the same tights and a lightweight knitted jumper (Reiss jumpers are fab and last for years). This isn't specific to this winter; it's my permanent winter style, it's just that velvet and corduroy has suddenly come in again! I work in a school so have to be practically dressed, and spend a lot of time on the floor, so Wolford tights are amazing. The navy and berry ones are fab to perk up an outfit, too.

Skinny polo necks always look cute in winter, too. Lots of berry, navy and forest-green shades about in beautiful fabrics; the only thing I can't wear is satin and there's loads of that about, especially bomber jackets. At your size and height you could probably pull one off and look great. Velvet is your friend this winter I reckon.

OMG u sound so fashionable!
I would love a pinafore dress. That is on my shopping list. Also love the idea of polo necks. Where do you buy your tights from.

I'm asking these questions as I'm going shopping to Manchester on 2 weeks and I have about £300 to spend on myself.

What about coats? I live in a black north face number for school runs and walking dog. I probably sound awful ha!

Would u wear a polo neck under a pinafore?

I love polo necks under dresses in the winter. Thick tights, polo necks and my usual dresses but with a jumper underneath and if it's really cold a cosy cardy on top. Oh and last but not least knee high or ankle boots.

Oh and a lovely berry lip and nails if I've got the time. I love winter clothes!

I love berry nails in winter too Buster, I always feel put together if I've got a nice set of nails!

Definitely polos under pinafores, or if it's warmer (which in school it always is) a lighter long-sleeved-tee usually from Gap.

I've not bought any new coats so far this winter, just a couple of coatigans from Next, I'm still on the lookout for a perfect winter coat but living in a navy Topshop hooded duffle coat til I find another.

La Redoute does lovely polo necks at this time of year, and tights are always Wolford.

I buy support tights, it holds everything in and makes you look firmer.

I love coloured tights. If I'm wearing navy I love to add navy tights so it's a nice colour block look. I love navy, I hardly wear black as I prefer softer colours. Wolford are a brand who make great tights, I've never owned any but apparently they do ones which come up high to hold your midriff in. That's the type of tights I like. Lol Grin

I think I struggle to be daring. I always go for safe options in fear of looking daft. But I really am sick of wearing the same think day in day out. I am so unfashionable. I want to look funky. I'm only 28 too Grin

Just go for it Gizmo, wear what makes you happy. Honestly once you get past your fear of 'looking daft' you'll be so much happier. I just love clothes, I love walking out of my house feeling like I look nice. Obviously I've got the same hang ups as everyone else and at the moment I'm bigger than I'd like but nice clothes make me feel confident. Clothes and makeup are my favorite things.

By the way Gizmo I wouldn't say I was fashionable, just someone that wears what makes her happy and hopefully at the same time looks ok! Grin

I'm definately going to give it a bash. I have just got glasses on prescription and feel really stupid in them too, maybe I've got a complex haha.
Buster I bet you are fashionable! Grin

Don't mention glasses, I hate mine and need some new ones! I'm so jealous of anyone with nice glasses! I wear contacts when I go out but knocking about at home I'm bespectacled! If I were in your shoes I'd buy a nice cosy jumper dress, thick tights and a pair of ankle boots. See how you feel and if you like it branch out a bit more. My coat is a massive furry blue thing from Topshop 3 years ago. I love it. People take the piss but I don't care! Grin

I'd recommend you google "does my bum look 40". Mum into fashion and blogs about it. I'm not a blog fan but enjoy this a lot. She usually looks great.

My favorite thing to do is wear lipstick that some people may find a bit much, I just love to see them looking and thinking that they wouldn't dream of wearing it. I just love it. Even when my husband looks and I can tell what he's thinking but then I have good friends that bloody love it. Wink

I like this blogger's overall style (although I don't share her love of all things Zara). She always looks really well put together, imh(umble)o)! Smile

I have a black pinafore dress with tortoiseshell buttons. I've only worn it once over a mustard collared shirt. I'm not sure it's me, but I think I need to try it over a ribbed roll neck and knee high boots.
