I think their prices are great but everytime i look at their jumpers etc. they look well..frumpy.
Are they frumpy in real life? Love the idea of cashmere and merino.

they are not high end fashion. i have a lot of really nice jumpers for day to day - have one on a the moment. its not frumpy....but not trendy either. i have some cotton/silk cardi's that you see in similar styles elsewhere eg boden. there is also a lot of frump that you have to steer around, and the sizing tends to come up large

Well i am neither young or particularly fashionable but there lies the issue. I would be a bit worried that it made me look older. So you would kind of say basics then and choose selectively. The modelling reminds me of my mums Daxon catalogue and she is 83! I am aware that the actual jumpers still could be nice, if they styled them right.

I've ordered from them a few times, but haven't kept anything, as they were always frumpy on (and I am Neal there young or trendy!) I do like Boden cashmere though, somehow the cut or length is much nicer than Woolovers.

I haven't got on too well with them really. I had a couple of cardigans which haven't washed well (followed instructions) and I've ordered a few things which have gone back because the length/cut hasn't suited me. I know they're well liked but I'm not going to bother with them again.

I'm not a fan either. The cuts are pretty grim, IMO and the quality is awful. One jumper I have from them in a shape I actually like has bobbled like a bastard. Despite washing and drying carefully, according to instructions and using a good quality detergent (woolite). I wouldn't bother again. I'd rather spend a little bit more and buy Boen's cashmere, tbh.

I think the 100% merino range new this season ( plus some 100% cashmere) is a bit more on trend.
I have a grey lambswool jumper that is not as nicely cut as the Boden one that preceded it, but didn't go all over bobbles in a week either like the Boden one.
Natural fibres, enormous choice; but much of it very classic.

I've just bought a navy cashmere and merino round neck, I really like it. A lot of their stuff does look a bit frumpy though. I ordered a scoop neck as well, it was ok but nothing special so will be returning it. I think if you're looking for a a classic jumper the quality seems good but fashionable they ain't!

I think they've had a bit of an update,got the catalogue through my door recently an DC there's a couple of things I like.

I have cardi from there and it's worn well considering the amount I wear it.

Oh gosh - i love them! Im not particularly stylish, but all my cashmere/merino from there has worn really well. I think alot of it is basic shapes so not really fashionable or unfashionable. Ive got a couple of longer length slouchy v-necks that look great with leggings. I pretty much lived in woolovers last winter.

I ordered a cardigan from them and it went straight back. Definitely frumpy, vile colour in the flesh and just a nasty itchy uncomfortable feel. Was hoping for so much more!

I got a cashmere mix jumper from one of their sales in our local town hall. It was full of older ladies who were mad for them.
They had some lovely colours and a nice asymmetric hem. Unfortunately the jumper looked rubbish on as it was too short and I gave it to my mum. And now it has bobbled horribly.

I ordered a couple of jumpers that looked just right on the page (chunky arran type things for dog walking) and the cut definitely didn't do anything for me, so they went back.

I'm short, though, which I think was at least part of the problem, my feeling is you probably need to be over 5' 3" or 4" at least for most of their stuff. If you're tall and willowy I suspect it looks fabulous

I have a grey merino/cashmere jumper from them, I can't say I'd buy another. It had a strange smell when it arrived, had a large cardboard tag stuck through the front of it and a very scratchy label which has left a small hole at the back. I've worn it twice but I don't think it will last being washed and worn much. To be honest I've had better quality cashmere from sainsburys it the past.

Well the consensus is no then by the replies. I guess though you could perhaps get something if you choose selectively but sounds a hit or miss at best. I am glad I posted as I have been tempted by the great prices but the shape on the models have always put me off. It all looks a bit dowdy and not the most flattering or modern of shapes. I like the boyfriend look - comfy and sloppy or neat and shaped and I don't really see much in the way of that on there. Think i will save my pennies for something better. Thanks.

My 17 yo DD lives in them - plain or cable merino/cashmere crew neck in the smallest size, but only a few of the colours are acceptable (favourite is bottle green.). Does anywhere else do plain wool jumpers at a price suitable for a teen to wear every day? (Not cashmere... lambswool too thick....)

I love them for classic styles. I have several lambs wool cardigans which I wear all the time in the winter and they have lasted years with very little bobbling and no shrinkage or twisting. It's not night out or high fashion stuff, I agree, but great for good quality winter basics. Never had any luck with Boden knitwear- poor quality and very bobbly- and I buy quite a few things from them.

Uniqlo seem to have a good range although I haven't had any experience of their jumpers. Might be worth a try though.

I've got a Uniqlo lambswool jumper that I love - it has bobbled now, but I've worn and washed it an awful lot. Their clothes can be a bit erratic, but on the whole I think they are well cut and flattering.

Errol men's M&S jumpers were ? Lots in at this time of year and much better quality than anything in womens ranges. (memories of my own teenage years in fact).

I have some work basics from woolovers - black v neck, black cardi and brown cardi.
The more casual stuff is pretty grumpy though imo.

Raising - my DD would love to have her pick of mens woolies (and checked flannel type shirts, and sensible well-made jackets...) but she's a petite and curvy size 10, so unfortunately that doesn't really work.
