Blackheads!!!

Evvy543 · 05/11/2016 14:48

I have some really deep set blackheads on my nose.
Tried exfoliation, face masks, steaming and have resorted to squeezing which has left my nose sore.

What can I do?

Kennington - which toner do you recommend?

Vichy normaderm green bottle
I use a waitrose own bar soap - don't overdo this though just use it on the blackheads. Not elsewhere!
Effaclar duo moisturiser is a nice matte finish product but don't know if that is necessary.

Salicylic acid toner will get rid of them in a week or two. I use nip and fab dragon's blood pads which contain salicylic acid each night after double cleansing. My blackheads on my nose have completely disappeared although my pores are still enlarged but don't think that can be helped.

Paula's Choice 2 per cent salicylic acid.
Total miracle.

Will deffo look into all this. X x
Thanks everyone.
I did the oil cleansing method tonight but my skin went really red for some reason. I used castor oil and olive oil.
I've got clean and clear blue toner but that hasn't helped.
Might look into nip and fab or paulas choice, preferably the cheapest.

IMHO oil cleansing and anything containing alcohol (eg clean & clear) make it worse. (For different reasons)

Don't do physical exfoliation, do chemical only. (ie with acid toner, not apricot scrubby things). Steaming your face will also just aggravate it.

The only thing that clears pores is BHA (eg salicylic acid).

I like Dr Sam Bunting's Youtubes videos on skincare.

I feel your pain! Gently does it!

I find a physical scrub is the best thing, but it has to be very gentle, I use Angels on Bare Skin by Lush. It suits my skin better than the acid toners. they don't seem to make any difference at all to me.
