Sparkly jumper

I'd quite like a fine knit jumper with a little bit of sparkle. I got a white company one but it's round neck and doesn't suit me as well as v or boat neck cuts. Whistles and jigsaw have some but expensive with a lot of synthetic fibres (which I'm bit totally against but I find them hit and miss).

Any recommendations?

I'm guessing you are looking for higher end than this...but I've just bought a lovely one from Primark. It fits beautifully, quite chuffed with it, though obviously synthetic for the price 😁 .

I'm a big fan of the Whistles sparkle knit - got 3 Blush Synthetic central but always washed well (on delicate cycle in a pillow case). However the most recent one is in a noticeably thinner fabric which doesn't bode well.

It's worth keeping an eye out in H&M. Most will be hideous but there are normally one or two low key ones.

Well Flo if you could just wash and wear this years a few times and tell me how you get on that would be super....

I have the Whistles one from several years ago and it's worn well, isn't sweaty from any synthetic fabrics etc.
I find it very useful!

Thought I'd found a lovely one in Warehouse today, but it had that weird open back that seems to be fashionable at the moment (I'm sounding like an old gimmer now).

I looked at the Whistles one recently - lovely, but two in the shop already had holes in!

CallerMorvern I hear ya re the open back. I see them and I'm tsk tsking in my head. it's winter fgsGrin. Even some what-look-likes-workwear clothes. Turn them around, big gopping designer-y hole in the back.

I got a nice dark blue one with blue sparkle thread through it in H&M last year. Similar to the Whistles one. Washed ok for what it is. Sean frayed a bit but easy to sew back. They probably will have something like it again this year.

Sean frayed?? Not sure who he is but at any rate the seam of the jumper frayed a bit.

Glad I'm not the only one! It was lovely from the front, no idea what you do about a bra with a top like that.

I like that. Plain vest underneath? Or silk cami?

Actually I bought a black sparkle jumper from tesco today - slightly batwing. Pretty impressed with it.

I got greedy and bought a Whistles navy sparkle knit and a grey one too, last week in the discount weekend thing Blush

Not sure I'm going to keep both though.

taybert I'm wearing the latest Whistles one today - having lunch in one of those places where everyone dresses up but tries desperately to look as if they haven't so it's the prefect occasion! I'll report back.

I like the White Stuff one too.

Other Stories have some sparkly tops, some were split back which I'm just wearing a pretty vest/camisole under but others were just plain?

Kennington · 05/11/2016 13:48

Other stories sparkly ones are natural fibre based and wash well on cold cycles and last well.

Excellent Flo, try and slop some of your food down it and see how it washes out if you don't mind.

I like the other stories ones but not sure how the neck would be on me. They do have some lovely jumpers on there though. Think the white stuff one is my favourite so far.

I am very happy with a black one I got in Oasis. It has sparkly shoulders and is lovely and soft.

Have you tried M&S? They usually have a sparkly jumper or 2 in the run up to christmas
