Are jimmy choo's specular ?

They don't last any better than cheaper shoes in my opinion - in fact in some cases less well due to the very soft leather.

They are however exceptionally comfortable.

I have a few pairs Jimmy Choos. They're fine but nobody would know they're Jimmy Choos unless I took them off and showed the label inside. They're certainly not worth having if you can't really afford them.

With this sort of thing its about how they make you feel though I guess and so if they make you feel spectacular and its not going to cause you financial problems then go for it.

Is it worth getting them resoled before I even wear them? I'm guessing they might have a thin leather sole, I'm thinking maybe something more substantial

You'll devalue them if you do. One of my pairs is resoled. The first sole didn't take long to wear through,

Id never sell them, I figured the original sole might be quite fine, I'm like a bloody triceratops so they will be resoled a lot

I have Jimmy Choo's which were given to me as a present by OH. It took me a year to get the balls to wear them outside as they're so beautiful.

They're very comfy but require a lot of love- I.e new heel caps after a big event (wedding where I was on my feet for ten hours plus) and putting on new soles. Because the soles of shoes are white suede and are gorgeous, you can't just stick any old new sole on and have to get cream ones which are more expensive (£30 for a set from Timpson)

Not sure they're worth their cost per wear just yet, but I feel like a power woman in them. If you can afford them- buy them!

Also- Choo recommended not to resole before wear. They said it's better for shoe to be worn first and then repaired when necessary afterwards.

I don't know how much they are but if they're anything more than about £200 then they're really not worth it.

Would just add that I don't find Jimmy choos particularly comfortable, so if this is your first pair I really wouldn't advise buying online as you need to be sure they suit your feet.

Designer shoes generally require a lot more care then high street shoes. both the soles and heels are particularly vulnerable. Most of mine are special occasion shoes only.

I have a few pairs of Jimmy choo's and don't find them particularly comfortable. I gsve away one pair as the point hurt my toes too badly. Open toed high heels last but not as fantastic as a pair of flats. They survived 2 pregnancies, A LOT of wear and 7 years so far. One of my most loyal shoes ever .

You must try them on. I gave away a pointy pair of Choos as they were so uncomfortable. However, my longest standing pair of flats are JC and they have done alot of work. I got them when i was pregnant with my second and almost lived in them. The are now a little tired looking but they are fab. I have a couple of pairs of open toed herls that are only special occasion worthy.

I have some almost identical ones as those from Gina and it will hopefully help you get over them if I tell you that they have to be re-heeled after EVERY SINGLE WEAR. The heel tips just don't seem to be able to survive normal wear, so they hardly ever now come out of the shoe cupboard.
