Booked in for a rhinoplasty tomorrow.

Sooooo nervous.

Any posters had this done?

I know it will be worth it but it's a big event!!

I've not done this but I've had a boob lift and ear surgery. Both things have made me so much more confident and happy. Good for you x

I plan to get DH to do my before shots later today.

I've been wanting this doing for years. It's not a horrendous nose but something a bit more feminine would suit my face better.

I have kept it low key though. Only a handful of people know about it.

Really hope you're doing ok. DD had hers done at 18 and was thrilled and was much more confident and happier.
If there's any way you can get hold of some arnica tablets and get taking them asap, then that might be useful. DD's surgeon recommended she do that and she had far less bruising then she expected.
The first week was painful afterwards but it was so worth it for her.

Done. No pain yet. Having to breathe through mouth at the moment until the packing comes out tomorrow. The drugs were ace!

Can't sleep though.

Thank goodness for Kindle (and mnet of course)

Sovain - how are you doing today?

I bet you are so excited to see your new nose when the taping comes off. I honestly didn't recognise DD. Her whole face looked entirely different somehow and her other features really stood out. When my Mum, me and dd were in a shop just after her dressings had been removed, my Mum actually walked passed dd as she didn't realise it was her. She really did look that different. It took months to get familiar with the 'new' dd.
It took about a year for everything to finally settle into its permanent shape. Till then she kept sort of changing (I suppose as the swelling in her nose and face was decreasing.) I wasn't prepared for just how much of a difference it would make to her. The best thing was that she finally looked people in the eye when speaking and wasn't conscious about her profile. She started to wear prettier clothes because she felt more feminine. It really did help her confidence masses.

I hope you will be really pleased with yours and that you aren't in too much discomfort. DD said she did feel as if someone had thrown a brick at her forehead and couldn't bear her glasses pressing against the side of her nose so had to wear her contacts all the time till that settled.

They may have given you cocaine during the procedure, this is fairly common! Hence the not being able to sleep hope the packing coming out wasn't too horrid.

Hi.

Yes, it was cocaine. It certainly kept me awake. Pretty tired today so have had a nap or two and hope to sleep tonight.

The packing being taken out was fine actually. Just slithery...

Pain on a scale of one to ten - at the moment a two - and that's only if I try and move my face. On paracetemol only. It's more annoying feeling bunged up and not being able to breathe properly.

That sounds fab for your DD daily. just shows how a nose affects your confidence.

My cast comes off next week so will take pics then.

I know that feeling well! You'll probably get quite a runny nose too and itchy from any stitches that are inside. It really helps to sleep as upright as possible. I bought a v pillow for both of my surgeries and it was brilliant.

Just remember you will be very swollen when the cast comes off but should still be able to see good results, it'll also be very yucky and plenty of blackheads!

How exciting OP! I had mine done three years ago and it's much better than it was. I didn't get any pain afterwards, luckily, but it still feels sensitive now (or maybe I'm just wary of it!) I got a saline nasal spray for babies when I had mine done and that really helped with the congested feeling.

You're lucky you get your splint off after a a week. I had to keep the full thing on for two weeks, all over Xmas!

Two and a half days in and feeling much better.

No pain. Been taking paracetemol just in case but only feel pressure when I try and move my face/wrinkle my nose..

The plaster cast feels constrictive, and my nose is full of dried blood (which I'm not supposed to remove) which looks yucky and feels stiff.

Not much in the way of black eyes either. Just a slight bruising on one eyelid and underneath.

Wow that's great about not much bruising and minimal pain. I was expecting DD to look like she'd been in a boxing match after hers but hers sounds the same as yours.

It will be sooo exciting when the cast comes off. Do you have any stitches to be removed? DD had some on her nostrils but they were so teeny they were barely visible. I don't know if this will be the same in your case but dd's nose looked rather up-tilted for a while. The surgeon said because the tip eventually drops, he sometimes makes them a bit tilted to allow for gravity to pull it down again. He was right, over the next year it settled. It looked cute at first, not comical, but it did change. So what you see next week, might look a bit different after it all settles. The first thing we noticed when the cast came off was how striking her eyes and mouth were. Somehow with the out of proportion nose, they weren't as noticeable before.
Not long till Monday now :)
