but I need to know....

Are these (deep breath) mum boots

I'm not going to buy them, I already own them, have done since last year. Just wondering whether to get rid of them. Opinions please

If "mum boots" means 'boring boots', then yes.

They are a bit boring yes..but I can't find any other plain leather ankle boots that I can wear with everything.
(or at least not until I can get rid of these)

Please don't buy them!

I would say they are the quintessential mum boot. Sorry.

If you like them, fine. To each their own.

These are my plain, everyday, go-with-everything leather ankle boots.

I don't think we share taste in shoes though.

Actually I generally wear DMs quite often. I just need something else sometimes

Ok then...how about something like this? Plain and versatile but without the mum boot element.

not mum boots

I'm not keen on that one little buckle and the trying to be wooden but isn't heel, or the white stitches which just look odd. Sorry

Do you like them/like wearing them? In that case, you should keep on doing so. If I'd paid that much for a pair of boots, I'd want longer than one season out of them.

They are just plain, rather workish looking boots. There is no such thing as a mum boot.

I have suede block heeled boots, not keen on OTK ones, and just looking for a plain weather proof (or at least compared with suede) little boot. A pair I can preferable wear with skirts/dresses, that I can wear to go out straight after work. That kind of thing. I'm a university lecturer, so nothing too blingy

Fair dos. I thought if you liked docs they might appeal.

Think I'm just a bit bored of them Remus

Actually I think it'/ what you wear them with, if you put them under boot cut jeans that are slightly half mast then yes... they are mum boots.
They are quite stylish actually, that style is everywhere a

Well my mum has a pair just like that... Actually that would make them granny boots Shock(sorry!)

Love Pictish's DMs.

Have you tried Fly London, Rocketdog or Blowfish?

I am not known for my innovative style but I quite like them! I like something not too clunky but with a sturdy heel for comfort. I really don't like buckles or anything too bikerish. I can't imagine anyone looking at those boots and thinking how terribly unfashionable they are, but maybe people look at me and think that all the time!

I'm fairly young, and not a mum and I like them...
