She hates fascinators and wants a hat but what colour? Trying to,steer away from black was thinking something to tie in with shoes? She'll have a wrap of some description - probably incorporating the black, champagne, shoe colour etc.

Any suggestions (other than ditch the hat and go with a fascinator!)

Sorry, the shoe link doesn't open for me - what colour are they?

She could go with almost any colour or style hat, I think, so should go somewhere with lots of choice (John Lewis-type place) and try lots on to see what suits her and what she feels comfortable in

But if she wants a hat to wear to the service (church?), then take it off she could wear something like this or this

If she wants something to wear all day, something like this might work

Shoes are a maroon/plum colour?

I rather like that first hat - different from your average wedding style!

Second one bit small. 3rd one - she doesn't like the headband thing! I've been out with her today looking and no joy so far. I just think a fascinator looks lighter and younger some how but maybe that's just me! Thanks for the suggestions.

How old is your friend? Fascinators look young on young people, but IMHO, there's a cut off point where they start to look "middle aged person trying to look young"

Accessorize have a plum fedora

If she feels more confident with a fascinator / head piece instead of a hat, Accessorize also have a plum velvet band, which might work for a wintery wedding (I know she said no to a band previously, I'm just throwing it out there Smile)

If she has long hair and is really uncertain about a hat, a simple hairpiece like this would work well too

Update! Hat found.
Can't post a link as from a hat hire place, but it's stunning. Thanks for the suggestions.
