Anyone know a good facial oil for nighttime use for combination highly reactive skin??

That's it really, my skin is super sensitive/reactive combination dehydrated. I want to use a nice facial oil a few nights a week but all the ones I've tried have either stung and made skin go red and feel a bit "burnt" or just do not absorb at all so I'm left with a very oily face literally all night (I'm not using too much) any recommendations?

I had this problem, and now just use baby oil! Wipe over face with wet cotton pad, then apply tiny bit of baby oil onto damp face and neck. My skin looks the best it ever has Confused

I think you asked this before and a couple of people (myself included) suggested jojoba oil. Did you give that a go?

What have you tried so far? A 100% cold pressed oil would be best I think, the Jojobo oil from MV Organics is really great as it doesn't clog pores and mimics the natural skin barrier, though it's technically an ester.

If you're looking for something v. occlusive look for one that is high in oleic acids, though if you're clog prone seek out high-linoleic oils instead. Watch out with grapeseed oil, it's astringent so will actually dry you out - which is great if you're oily but not so much for other skin types.

Oops, x post with Nabootique Grin.

Ha ha yes I prob have asked this before!
I haven't tried jojoba oil still and tbh I forgot! Blush mainly because I went to buy some from h&b and were sold out so it just kind of slipped my mind after but may look into the mv organics one, is it ok to use just few nights a week as a boost? I'm just worried a plain oil won't offer me any benefits??

Baby oil is a no go as it's just mineral oil and fragrance 2 things my facial skin does not like :(

What have you tried so far? Clarins does a Lotus Oil for combination skin, and personally I really like Decleor Rose oil for sensitive skin

I use plain rosehip oil. Very gentle, and my skin looks much better since I started.

It's just that great minds think alike botemp Grin

The MV Organics one is really excellent quality. Jojoba most closely resembles skins natural sebum, close enough for easy absorption, so you shouldn't be left greasy. A plain oil definitely has benefits, just not the same as essential oils, but I know you have to avoid those.

Thanks so far everyone.
Ones I've tried so far are...
Liz Earle superskin
Kiehls midnight recovery
A few different rosehip oils
Decleor (did quite like)
Sanctuary spa therapists one
Ren

Perhaps oils aren't for you if you've tried that many? I use Aveeno cream, marvelous stuff for reactive , dry skin.

They all (as far as I know, barring the rosehip oil) contain essential oils though, don't they? I'm not sure about the REN as I don't know which it is, but other than that. If you are sensitive essential oils can be a real problem, and you will be better off with something plain seed oil, or a blend of them.

The ren was the omega serum or something like that, it has bloody fragrance in it!
May go with jojoba then as ur right most essential oils are a problem for me especially over a period of time. What will jojoba do for me just used a few nights a week as opposed to not using it if that makes sense?

Darphin's chamomile oil. I have sensitive skin and rosacea and this stuff is lovely on my skin.

I love Nars Monoi oil and Lush solid oil - I forget what it's called but it's sort of taupe coloured. Both are fragranced although natural fragrance though so may not be the best for you.

Tamanu oil is amazing! Doesn't smell the best though.

The Elizabeth Arden new body and face oil, really versatile fragrance free and you need the tiniest bit.

Perhaps avoid get branded stuff - a pure cold pressed oil is great.

REN omega serum oil is great. I've got a sample size bottle of EL night repair and my skin is HIDEOUS after two uses (thankfully I didn't buy a full-size bottle!)
