Clothes for Dubai in November

I am desperately looking for suggestions for clothes to wear on a week's holiday with DH to Dubai.

Everything I read about what to wear contradicts itself - I'm comfortable that the dress code in the hotels is relaxed and I have plenty of dresses for the evenings but I don't want to appear disrespectful when we are out and about during the day.

Our usual Summer holidays are in Spain/Portugal/Greece where I live in strappy/light jersey dresses (Boden, Fat Face etc.) over swimwear which just feel a bit too short or 'exposed' for Dubai. Equally I don't want to fry in the heat.

Any suggestions/advice? I am a size 16, apple shaped with big boobs but good legs and I look awful in cropped linen trousers/t-shirts. I was thinking about flattering, cotton, short-sleeved dresses that are knee length but it feels like finding the holy grail.

So far I have bought a cream pashmina in the hope that I can just cover up...

It won't be that hot in November and the expats will be in boots and winter woolies .
Normal holiday wear fine at hotel pools.

Hello op - I live in Dubai. Just bring what you normally wear on hols and keep the pashmina with you for the mall (the air on is set to igloo). It'll still be really warm in nov. Def not winter woolies weather at all. Just much more comfortable, less humid and with a warm breeze at night. Have fun!

Could you take a couple of long cotton dresses and maybe as couple of cotton shirts? It's all about the fabric, you can be covered and cool!

Timefortea that's reassuring. I was worried that outside of the hotels there would be an expectation that all women should have knees and shoulders covered at all times.
