Do you avoid certain fabrics? Viscose?

Do you avoid any fabrics entirety either because of how they wear or feel?

I have a couple of items that have bobbled really fast and realised both are viscose. Hate that bobbly look - so tatty.

I'm try to plan an Autumn / Winter wardrobe and listing stuff I want.

Just seen a jumper I was planning to get is 79% polyester and 20% viscose. It's £42 so hallway to a decent cashmere 😄 Avoid?

And why has it all when me 34 years to look at clothes labels properly?

I wouldn't wear a jumper made of that - it would be sweaty.
I will sometimes wear a viscose mix in a light top or a dress but imo jumpers should be mostly or at least partly natural fibres.

Damn that's a shame - it was Pepperberry which is great for boobs but loads of their stuff has viscose it seems.

I try really hard to get natural fibres. (except for some things, like hiking clothing) I seem to spend a lot of time on the Internet trying to find them at reasonable prices.

A little bit of synthetic in say an 80% wool jumper gives it a bit more durability, but 100% synthetic makes me sweaty and prone to electric shocks.

An old polyester top feels crunchy and smells odd. An old cotton shirt is lovely and soft.

Im not bothered by viscose. I like it. I hate polyester but it has made a huge comeback. I have a few dresses that are viscose and they are truly beautiful to wear. Order it and see how it feels. You can be surprised.

Polyester always makes me smell sweaty. Dd goes round shops with me and will pipe up "ooh mummy this one is 100% cotton"

I avoid jumpers that are acrylic (or have a high proportion), as they usually feel sweaty and go bobbly.

One that sometimes catches me out is when I buy a cotton sweatshirt/teeshirt not realising it has a sneaky high polyester content. I buy a garment, thinking it's cotton, then realise too late it's 50% polyester. Bobble city. Up to about 30% you're OK, but no more than that. Primark, New Look and other cheapo places are guilty of that. The DCs are well used to me obsessively checking labels.

Viscose is perfectly fine. In fact, for a jumper it can be better than cotton because it doesn't fade.

I find jersey fabrics with a high % of viscose are crap and go bobbly very quickly. Find myself shaving my clothes more often than the rest of me!

I've noticed so much stuff - even dear stuff - is 100% polyester. Whistles: I'm looking at you! Polyester is cheap and synthetic so it bothers me when 100% polyester clothes are prohibitively expensive... Imagine their profit margin!

I've started reading labels and now choosing items made of cotton, or mostly cotton. I used to not care as long as the style is nice.

I also have started choosing leather over synthetic - same story, I used to buy things based on style but now I think I'm going more for durability and comfort.

Maybe I am growing up.

I like viscose a lot - it hangs beautifully, and I haven't found (yet) that it bobbles any quicker than anything else. It also doesn't get mishapen.

However it requires ironing which is annoying! I don't sweat much at all even when super hot so although I like all natural fibres, it's not the be all and end all for me. I would like some nice cashmere though.

I agree with Felicia above, i love Viscose because of the weight which makes it hang nicely, and don't find it bobbles any worse then any other fabrics.

I cannot stand Polyester, horrid static, no weight, no body, cheap tat that seems to be creeping into everywhere, yuk!

Viscose is not really a synthetic fibre like polyester, it's actually made from cellulose. It has many of the same properties as cotton, and I find it wears and washes well. Most of my clothes are viscose with a bit of elastane, and they don't need ironing either.

I do avoid nylon or polyester.

I don't like it and would rather buy cotton. I think I sweat more in it and it holds the sweat smell more.

Viscose is not sweaty.

Polyester snd Acrylic are 100% synthetic (think as breathable as a plastic bag) and lovingly retain and BO .

I prefer natural fibres (wool, silk, cotton, linen, cashmere etc) if possible/affordable, and not mixed. Mixed anything doesn't wear as well I find, it's like the two fibres want to part company.

The jury is still out on viscose for me. Some viscose things I have I like; others it just looks cheap, makes me sweat and crumples soooo easily. I assume it's a quality issue. It's also horribly environmentally unfriendly to make apparently.

I like viscose. I try to go for cotton or viscose where possible.

Polyester makes me smell awful, even though I have showered and put deodorant on before dressing. It's awful.

And t shirts that are a cotton/polyester mix go all bobbly and fade really quickly.

As for polycotton bedlinen, I hate it with a passion.

Viscose is something I now avoid due to sweatiness and the smell and pepperberry clothing has been particularly bad for me, which is a shame as it can hang and wash really well. I just need to get changed and washed after 2 1/2 hours

I think the viscose is not much better than synthetic and it is processed differently to cotton so not convinced. I will continue to avoid.

I don't have any problems with viscose, it drapes beautifully, but I detest wool in all its forms. It brings me out in a rash just thinking about it 😖.

I hate viscose. Creases like bejaysus, as bad as linen, shrinks if you cry on it. I hate washing it, no item of clothing is ever the same after washing it. Hate it. I really try to avoid it. But I notice more and more of the damned stuff creeping into shops everywhere.

Interesting that some people like it! It's bobbling on the boob area that irritates me - it happens so fast. You'd think Pepperberry might factor this in, being cut for bigger busts 🙄

I agree cotton is great, but another one who can't bear wool.

I like viscose, it's natural fabric, thin and drapey.
I hate polyester especially in knitwear, it looks so cheap and shiny.
