Style and beauty

Comfy but smart shoe/trouser combo

I tend to wear either dresses and mary-janes or wide-legs and heels.

I have recently realised I'd be better off with flatter shoes, but don't seem to be able to find the right level of comfortable vs, smart. Any suggestions please?

Slim leg trousers that end at the ankle and brogues?

Watching with interest as your style sounds similar to mine...

Brogues with socks? Am confused by the sock situation (hence always wear tights or long trousers and heels...

I like skinny-ish jeans with flat-ish boots. Realise this makes me a fence sitter.
Look at H by Hudson, lovely flat boots.

I'm not sure that ankle books and trousers look smart enough for work?

I have some Gabor wedges that are really comfy and look nice with lots of different trousers. I don't wear skirts really but I imagine they would go with those as well.

Maybe I an try the boots thing. I've never worn a slim fitting trouser - don't like my thighs at all. Are there any that don't make your bum look huge? (size 12, pear shape).

Yeah try loads on, you want slim rather than skinny. I'm a 12 pear and wear them with chunky boots. Suppose depends where you work, my office is creative so can get away with more but you can definite style it smart.

And make sure tops are the right length, longer line sweaters or shirt dress over the top works.
