Agree with the pp who said they'd work on a wintry day with jeans. They're definitely an "outdoor" boot, for going to the park etc, rather than something you could wear for work. I wouldn't put them with dresses unless you want to look like a Fat Face advert.

Gin has it. It's not just the clumpiness that's the issue, it's absolutely the height. These boots would cut off at around the widest part of the calf and look really odd with any length of skirt or dress.

I think they're lovely and would be great with dresses. I don't like the silly little ankle boots that most people think look good with dresses atm. They look more like overgrown shoes. These ones are definitely boots and look ace.

I like them - I had to chuck [well recycle] my non-work boots last week so I've bought some. Lets be clunky and masculine together [my bazookas do tend to give the game away unfortunately]. Vive le revolution in chunky brown suede boots. With decent return policy natch, just in case they really do look too 'masculine'.

I have these Clarks National Sugar boots and do wear them with leggings and a tunic. They are on the more 'clumpy' side of boots and probably wouldn't go with a delicate dress...I suppose it depends ont he dress

They'd be really cute with leggings and dresses. I quite like having contrasting styles in the same outfit, like a flowery/floaty dress with warm leggings and boots in the winter. It's an awesome way to extend the use of summery dresses too. I'm forever just throwing thick tights or leggings on under the summer dress with a nice warm cardigan. Super cute. Rock the boots!!
