Haven't worn trousers in about 10 years!

So as the title says, I live in dresses/skirts with tights or bare legged in summer. I've lost 4 and a half stone since January and am now a size 10. I'm working on one more stone, but for the first time ever I'm feeling confident to buy a pair of skinny jeans (yikes). I'm 5ft 2 and 31, what do you all recomend (and are skinny jeans just not 'in' anymore?)

Congratulations on your weight loss! I'm a dress person too, but when I do wear jeans I like topshop Jamies.

Even though the demise of the skinny has been reported for at least the last couple of years they're still by far the prevalent jeans shape in any retailer so I think you definitely should wear them.

I've virtually given up wearing premium denim and just stick with top shop. Expect to pay £35-45 for a pair. A big benefit for me is that they are really good in having a range of leg lengths in all their styles - I'm guessing you may have a shortish inside leg so may well be similar for you.

My favourite style currently is Jamie which is high waisted but proper jeans with pockets etc. I have Leigh (medium rise) and Joni (high rise) which are also both skinny but more jegging like so perhaps less forgiving on any lumpy bits. My suggestion would be to order a variety via Internet (10 is labelled as 28w) and try on at home as coverage of sizes can be patchy in store.

Also you don't really describe your shape but what fits best will depend very much on that. Worth having a look at the Donna Ida fitting guides even if you don't intend to spend that much on jeans as they'll give you an idea what features to look for.

I'm an hour glass I guess, 8-10 on top and same on the bottom with a small (ish) waist with size 3 feet.
