Anyone had rhinoplasty?

Do you like the results? I've booked a consultation with a good surgeon in London. I've wanted a nose job since I was about 16 probably, now 30 and thinking fuck it I'm doing it as I've always loathed my big hump and shy away from pictures.

Did you get the procedure done?! I've just had my final consultation and waiting for a date, hopefully it'll be within the next month!

Yep had my nose done age 17. Completely love it. No one ever believes it's not my natural nose

Great news! How was the recovery?

Had mine done in 1982; not a brilliant job. Nostrils are uneven and the surgeon didn't shave enough off. Very disappointing for me but couldn't do anything about it as it was done on nhs

Really straightforward

7 days post op I had a splint on my nose and bruising that made me look like Mike Tyson. Looked awful but wasn't painful.

Splint came off and I looked puffy and bruising was yellow green so I slightly resembled a frog

10 days post op I went out to the shopping centre and cinema and wasn't self conscious enough for anyone to notice anything

Swelling went down rapidly but even before then I completely loved the result

I was told it could take up to a year for everything to settle, but I seem to remember it settling down pretty quickly

Surgeon was great, gave me a nose that was proportionate to my face - nothing worse than obviously semitic looking faces with tiny little ski jump noses

I forget I ever had it done tbh

I have been in theatre during a few rhinoplasty ops and yes its definitely worth getting done, its a fairly simple procedure for smoothing down a bump, and the results are always pretty amazing for each individual. Go for it.

Fantastic results can be done with fillers now and I mean fantastic. Check out the Consultant Clinic on Instagram to see what I mean.

I had it done privately 15 years ago when i was 21. Ithe cost me about £3500. had a big pointed nose and was very self conscious about it. Im so glad i had it done and increased my confidence. Most people never noticed id had anything done as it was 'done well' so I still looked like me but with a smaller nose. I was back at work with minor bruising i could cover with make up about 1 week later. Good luck.

With fillers?! So good to hear so many of you are happy with the results

Fillers have to be redone though.

Rhinoplasty is one of the ONLY cosmetic procedures that actually lasts. Botox? Needs redoing. Fillers? Need redoing. Breast implants? Need replacing. Facelift? Lasts about 7-10 years. Veneers? Need replacing. Liposuction? Needs redoing.

Rhinoplasty is one of the few procedures with staying power - unless you go to a cowboy surgeon and need it redoing because it wasn't done properly the first time, that's you done for life

Worth factoring in when you consider non surgical rhinoplasty

True. It just gives people options - to stagger payments, not to have an anaesthetic, not to go under the knife, dip your toe in the water before fully committing etc.

@Fosterdog123 completely agree. Always worth considering the pros and cons. Just worth being aware that if you want something more permanent then you could end up paying twice for the fillers and then the surgical option.
