I am bloody chuffed to bits; in in need of some new clothes but dh has just gone back to work after being made redundant last year and we are having to be very careful with money. My long sleeved tops are a disgrace and at least 6 years old

I unearthed 4 brand new tops these ones in clay, sienna, chambray and cypress for £2.50 each. quality is lovely and they are a perfect fit

Bloody pleased...can you tell ? Grin

Love a good charity shop find. Rarely have the time to go, which is a shame as I live near some very wealthy areas so there may well be good stuff there.

Good Lord! £42?!

Good for you. Now the important question, are they £42 worth of lovely?

They were £10 not £42...

That was for all of them Grin

I wouldn't pay £42 for one no, but my brain is still set at 1990 prices so out and about I am metaphorically reaching for smelling salts whilst squawking "HOW MUCH"??????

They were £10 not £148
Well done Gate
I got a brand new phase eight jumper form a charity shop a couple of weeks ago, I do wonder who sends brand new, this season, expensive stuff to charity shops. I'm not complaining, just wondering.

I got a brand new boden dress in ours last week. It was in the window. £10 and still on sale on their website. Odd but I got loads of compliments at work. Smile

I also got a brand new boden shirt dress a couple of months ago for £6.99. I have worn it loads for work since.

Charity shops are top! I've found fossil bags, Jaeger bags, Oasis stuff and always see Kew items in ours. Plus tonnes of dinosaur and car stuff for the boys.

Long may they live

I never find anything other than things that are fit for the bin or that I could get for 1/2 the price elsewhere

Found new fat face cropped trousers and fitflop sandles and DM boots in mine yesterday. Sadly the boots weren't my size but got the rest (plus a nica (?) bag for €11.

My nearest one is an Oxfam 'boutique' but it's really stuffed with garbage

Depends on the shop Mrsderekshepard. There's five charity shops in walking distance of my house, only one even has regular decent finds. No idea why.

I had a Roberto Cavalli dress from a charity shop that sold on eBay... For £11! I don't think the dears in the charity shop knew who Cavalli was!! I donated extra to the charity when the beautiful dress arrived.

Love a charity shop too :-) I volunteer in one too, two mornings a week. There is always really good stuff handed in and the hard bit is resisting all of the bargains. The amount of brand new stuff we get handed in is staggering.

This last week we have had what is left of the summer stock all reduced to £1 - some incredible bargains to be had. Lots of good quality tops, dresses, linen trousers and shorts all for the measly sum of one pound. And not just Primark stuff either - Boden, Zara, M&S, Debenhams, Top Shop, Hobbs etc etc.

Back in on Monday.... wonder what I'll find then?

I love a good charity shop rummage. I'm about to become one of the crazy people who donates virtually new stuff:

  • a coat, BNWT, that I got for my birthday last year. It's a colour I never have, and never will, wear. It's also slightly too small. The person who gave it to me lives overseas and bought it there. No chance of eBaying it, as it has no labels on it or in it, no size info, nothing other than the shop name.
  • a Bravissimo dress I bought for an event about 7 years ago. Didn't wear it as I couldn't find any shoes to go with it. Still havn't worn it, still havn't found any shoes (I'm a size 9, and an ankle injury means I can't wear heels).

Charity Shops have served me and my DC really well over the years, so now I am a bit better off, I'm happy to pay it back.
