Hi!

I'm hoping for some advice/experiences from other mumsnetters about the best value/experience beauty counter make over.
I need a new look! My makeup routine has been the same since I can remember! After two children and turning 35, I've noticed that my old foundation/concealer isn't cutting it anymore!
I'm thinking of going to a beauty counter to try some new products and refresh my make up bag but no idea where to start!
So, what would you recommend? Any info about where to go, what to ask for etc and, ideally, not something that is going to cost a fortune although I do expect to pay a bit more than usual!
Thanks in advance!

I'm waiting until they release the christmas sets which is usually in November. You can get some amazing bargains there, hampers or boxes of the usual products (often in mini size but some full size too) for £££ cheaper than buying at full price.

My favourites for these are Laurier Mercier and Bobbi Brown. But estee lauder, elizabeth arden, lancome etc usually do christmas sets too.

Recommended on here, and I tried was going to No 7 counter in Boots for their foundation match service. Otherwise I would suggest MAC. You can get a natural look if you ask, but in more modern formulations, and different colours, eg plums instead of browns.

My current foundation is no7, but it may be worth going for colour match as I've always bought the same one and gone off my own judgment colour wise! I may go for a colour match to get some for now then go in November to try some other brands! Thanks guys x
