Please recommend me a mascara

I have tried countless mascaras, ALL of which end up smudged and giving me panda eyes - even though I only wear it on my top lashes, never on the bottom. Waterproof or not, they've all done it!

Please, please can someone recommend me a magical mascara that doesn't make me look like a raccoon by the end of the day?! I don't want to spend loads, but I'm willing to try anything.

After trying high end and others I was recommended the natural collection one at boots. So far it's the best I've used and the best bit is it's only £1.99

Clinique Naturally Glossy mascara is brilliant, doesn't irritate or smudge. I only use it on my top lashes too.

Benefit "they're real" or Chanel "dimensions de Chanel" are two that work for me.
The benefit on can be a bugger to remove but it makes my lashes look amazing

I've tried tons - expensive and more budget friendly and now happily using Boots No.7 Lovely Lashes Mascara (in shiny purple tube) and it's fab. Often on offer and I stock up when given those £3 off vouchers.

The best one I have ever used is this one from Superdrug. Every other mascara I have tried has given me panda eyes, but this one doesn't budge. Cheap as chips too!

Thank you so much for the recommendations - it's tough knowing which to buy when you can't just try one for a day or so!

I had the same problem, (dunno, maybe i have sweaty eyelashes), recommend either Boots No7 Stay Perfect (costs about £12) or using a different colour mascara, for example purple or navy blue which never seem to run and don't look as weird on as the colours would suggest.

Maybelline Lash Sensational is very good. Bought after numerous recommendations on a similar thread a while back.

Tarte is a great range and their Lights,Camera Mascara is excellent! Splashes is the waterproof version and Lashes the normal. Add some Best in Faux to boost your lashes and they'll look long and thick.

I still love my Maybelline Great Lash, been using it for years... DF used to bring it back from the USA for me when I was a young teenager and it wasn't available in the UK yet

Lancôme doll eyes is the only thing I wear and looks the same when I'm taking it off at night as when I applied it that morning. Zero smudging or flaking. And gives totally fab lashes too ;)

EttaJ that tarte mascara is one of my all time faves; I'm so glad we can now get Tarte in the UK!

For long lasting op you want Benefit They're Real. You'll have a job to even get that off with makeup remover. My favourite mascara that I keep going back to for years now though is Max Factor Masterpiece Max. Nothing else makes my lashes look so long, volumised yet natural and no spider leg look!

YY to the Boots Natural Collection one as was recommended on here! Was amazed as I thought I'd never find a mascara that doesn't smudge and especially at that price too Grin

I've never ever experienced mascara smudging.

Sometimes by the end of a day it's flaked off a bit but it doesn't smudge.

I swear by Lancome Hypnose. I've tried other cheaper brands recommended here and end up binning them because they just doesn't build up volume.

I have one by Soap and Glory- silver tube, which was around a tenner- it's okay but it's a bugger to remove. It's not waterproof but might as well be, so it might suit you!

careless it's a great range isn't it! I buy mine from Sephora whenever we go to the US. When I lived in the UK it wasn't available there .Where do they sell it and what are the prices like in £? I pay $21 for the mascara.

FreeButtonBee · 21/08/2016 19:42

Clinique lash power. It's a tubing mascara so it doesn't smudge and comes off with warm water in little tubes (hence the name!) it's more of an everyday mascara rather than a wow! Night out one. I like benefit they're real for night.

I've worn Lancôme Hypnose waterproof mascara for 20 years.
I have fairly sensitive eyes and it's fantastic!! Its the only mascara I would ever use. I take it off with Lancôme bi facil eye cleanser.

Mascara is a difficult one. I like waterproof.
I have had so many smudgy ones. Benefit they're real is a good mascara but super smudgy i find. I buy the mini version for tenner quite often simply as its quite good value
I bought Lancome Doll Eyes based on excellent reviews. Its nice but defo not worth the money and again, smudgey.
Imo price of mascara doesnt =how good and i buy tons of make up.
One of my fave non smudgey and good result is LOreal MIss Manga.
I remove all my mascara either with no7 waterproof remover or with my normal.cleanser (lush ultrabland) or sometimes coconut oil.

Tarte is available only at QVC I think EttaJ, the mascara is £21ish so similar to benefit in price. However with the exchange rate it does work out more expensive here Sad
