Just had a spray tan but I'm still pale - help wedding tomorrow!

Haven't had a spray tan in years but decided to have one before an event tomorrow.

It was a St Tropez tan and the (lovely) therapist did two coats.

Help! I still look really pale. When I shower it off tomorrow morning, I'm going to look whiter than white again.

I have a stunning (if I do say so) dress to wear but my natural paleness does not do it justice.

Should I apply more tan on top? Help! Will this ruin the tan and make it patchy?!

It's the first glam thing I've done in over 3 years and I wanted to feel glam!

Sad

Does it not take time to develop? It may get darker in the next hour. You don't want to add to it and then maybe go patchy and/or not the right shade you were aiming for.

how long have you left it? If it was too coats it must have made a difference? have a look tomorrow morning before you panic?

if it still looks rubbish, get a wash on wash off one to put over the top?

8hrs minimum to develop, it just doesn't have a deep 'guide' colour to convince you! This is usually what goes down the plughole in your morning shower!

Step away from any more tan, have faith and keep me posted!

Give it time, it develops over a few hours I believe!

it needs hours to develop. do not panic yet! it doesnt give you instant colour, sleep in it and shower tomorrow.

Leave it! It's not instant, it takes time to develop. Get some wash-off stuff from the supermarket/Boots to use in the morning if it'll make you feel more secure now, but I bet you £50 you won't need it.

Don't panic! And please, please step away from the tanning products. It will develop, it takes 8 hours. You'll look fab. Now show us the dress!

What's on you at the minute is a guide colour. That's rinse off. After 8 hours the tan underneath will have developed and then you wash off the guide colour. Don't worry you'll be tanned!

Thanks.

Only thing is I'm not totally happy with the shoes.

I tried everywhere for Rose gold shoes and ordered about 5 different pairs but none were right.

These are LK Bennett 'Kate Middleton' style ones which I know MN hate, but they are all I have.

Will they do?

Rose gold because the zip on the back of the dress is Rose gold btw!

Love that dress - you look great.

Don't worry about the shoes - as long as the are comfortable for lots of dancing they'll be fine!!

Beautiful dress! Is that you before or after the tan? If it's before, you definitely could have gone like that, you look amazing.

If that photo is your natural paleness, I'm not sure you've anything to worry about tbh as you certainly don't look pasty. (FWIW I'm a ginger, so am casting no aspersions at either my fellow pale people nor those who indulge in fake tan).

I've had a spray tan (ostensibly fair) and um, yeah, after a couple of hours it looked like nothing had happened. Next day? Well let's say I haven't repeated the experience as my 'natural look for fair skinned people' assuredly wasn't! It will develop.

You have a lovely figure and the over-sized clutch is great. I'm with others on the shoes - last wedding I went for a pair of patent wedges I could dance in and I was so glad I did. I'm sure you'll look fab Smile

TBH, your skin tone looks great without the tan, but worry not, it WILL develop!!

Love that dress! You look lovely, don't worry tan will develop over night, i had a double spray tan and it had developed by the time i drove from Manchester to Luton airport and back (parcel had arrived there needed it,don't ask Grin ) tomorrow you'll be mega dark just rinse in shower and it'll leave a lovely golden colour, just don't be worried about how dark you are when you wake up Grin

This is me without tan! Just an ordinary picture!

So at least if nothing happens, I'll still look ok then!

Do not- DO NOT put more tan on. If it all washes off (which it shouldn't, St Tropez has a guide colour which is nothing to do with the actual tan) you'll be pale. Add more now and you'll be patchy, tan doesn't like to be messed with once it's applied!

Agree no more tan! You look fab. Shoes look good too.

Step AWAY from the tan.
You'll end up as an eight.

Ankleswingers · 19/08/2016 21:06

Seriously, no more tan. You'll look ridiculous otherwise.

It takes time to develop- I had one a few weeks back and it developed overnight. After my shower the next morning it was much better. I was really pleased with the result.

Patience is what's needed.

Loving your dress, have a fab time Smile
