Help me - wedding this weekend - outfit let down

Big family wedding this weekend, I'd bought this fab vintage two piece off a local vintage seller for it but when I went to go and pick it up yesterday she told me she'd lost it! Aaarggggh!

I'm quite skint. Got a max £120 to spend but would prefer to spend much less.

The wedding will be relaxed, and I'm normally a bit scruffy. I'm mid twenties size 12/14 5ft7 I've got a bit of a c section overhang that id normally try and disguise but I'm not too bothered at this stage! Will be with the baby all day so lots of bending over and can't wear jewellery because she'll wreck it.

I've got some black kurt giegers that go with most stuff but I was thinking I could get a cheap pair of sparkly flat sandals if something a bit more summery was needed.

Im going charity shop hunting this morning and going to town later this afternoon.

Hellllpp me!! Any ideas and suggestions would be amazing GrinGrinGrin

TIA

Does this look like something you can wear to a wedding?

It's three quid.

Is be worried it'd be a bit waitressy? Debenhams has a big sale on just now.

How did she lose them? Very odd.

Personally I wouldn't wear black to a wedding, and that looks a bit officey not casual summer wedding-y. Maybe a nice dress with some colour? Something with a bit of flow is forgiving to most figures.

Yeah I was worried about waitressy/worky, but drawn to the price.

I wear so much black day to day Grin

I've got this which looks lovely on with a load of fake tan, but I feel like it would need a cover up or something. Maybe one of those kimono things? Could I pretend this is weddingy? Sorry shit picture baby is crying fiercly.

She didn't say how she lost it - maybe she sold it to someone else for a higher price though! I was gutted though it was a lovely linen print skirt and top. It was a bit of a mad print but perfect for a wedding. I never spend much on myself but I was happy to pay for it because I loved it so much and thought I'd get lots of wear out of both pieces. Darn it!

Thank you imsorryiasked they look lovely, but I wouldn't have the balls to start ordering stuff online now this late in the game.

The red is lovely. You'd need a cardi or a wrap/scarf/shawl for any formal bits with the strappy shoulders. But I love the detailing and the colour.

I'd get on ASOS and order a few different things on next day delivery.

The red dress is lovely but I've been on the lookout for some sort of cardi thing for it and nothing goes with it for some reason. Just black stuff. It's a funny shade of red. I've just spent 50 mins in primark it was horrendous.

I like the red dress - how long is it?

I personally am not a big fan of black at summer weddings. I'd probably accessorise with metallic sandals and metallic or nude clutch.

Do you really need a cover up? I find for a summer wedding that's it's not always necessary esp if not a church wedding

I love the new v&a range at oasis if you can get to one; there are 2 or 3 dresses that would be lovely for a wedding.

Thanks for all your help!

Yeah I've been out shopping for ages today.

The oasis v&a stuff is beautiful. I'm just dilly dallying about everything because I don't want to spend too much money. If I go with the red dress I need to get a decent strapless bra.

I'm tired and pissed off now so I'm going to go back into town tomorrow with a definite plan of action.

For the red dress if you can't get it to match with a cover up can you go for a deliberate looking clash? I'm thinking of that clashing of hot colours you can do with orange and pink. So same strength of colour but totally different colour iyswim. Maybe blue or grey or yellow. Or a tonal bleed into grayish pink or very light brown. I know that sounds mad but there's a version in my head of this that I think could work. Could be cheap if you get lucky. You must be so angry frustrated given that you actually had something sorted

Thanks again for all your help!

I ended up getting this massive scarf:

https://m.johnlewis.com/seasalt-harbour-flower-night-scarf-navy-coral/p/2877167

It might not be that exact scarf tbh because the one I've got doesn't looks anywhere near that dark. But it's blue with colourful flowers on it and the red flowers are the same red as the dress. I love flowery shit.

It looks dead nice, I'm really pleased it came in dead cheap!

Thanks again GrinFlowersGrin
