Batwing tops

Despite ranting against the quality of ME + EM's Breton tops, I have caught myself eyeing up their batwing top. Now, I am only 5'3" and 9.5 stone. With boobs. Good waist. Wide-ish hips. Do batwing tops ever look good on anyone but models?

I'm big (size26) and love the two I have. One is a black fine knit jumper that goes with everything. I've had it at least 5 years. I always look a bit nipped in if that makes sense. The other one is a black and white striped that I wear in spring or Autumn. I always get compliments on both.

Many of them they look awful on me and I have a similar figure (bit taller but short body). They can hide your waist and give you a bit of a giant monoboob. I've also got fairly broad shoulders and that makes it even worse.

But depends on the cut - if the arm comes in low down or higher up for example.

I always find them awkward when it comes to wearing a jacket/coat on top. I feel all bunched up and uncomfortable. So for that reason I wouldn't buy one.

Can you tell me if the me & Em sizing is true to size or bigger/smaller please? Love that batwing top, I have broadish shoulders and a larger chest and batwing looks ok on me

Hmm, I thought so. They now have 10% & free P&P, grrr….

I find their (Breton top) sizing a bit baffling - S is a little on the tight side, whereas M is absolutely massive. Not sure what it's like for dresses/trousers/knitwear/coats/jackets.

I don't see the 10% off!

I love batwing tops and find them flattering on my size 12+ figure. Why not?

Thank you balk
