Elasticated cuff linen trousers - where?

Twice in the past few days, I have spotted people wearing linen (type) natural colour ie beige, linen trousers. Instead of the usual wide and straight leg trousers, the ones I have seen, have elastic at the bottom of the legs but are still wide and worn just below the knee. The length looked as if they could be worn long also.

I know they sound like hideous clown pants but they looked really well and they were that dreaded word 'practical'.

Both women wearing them looked as if they were from continental Europe.

Does anyone have any idea where they might be from - the trousers not the trouser wearers :).

Thanks in advance.

No photos of them, I'm not sure the women I saw wearing them would have been too impressed if I took out my phone to photograph them. :)

I guess the best way of describing them were pedal pushers but they were more 'billowy'. They looked really comfortable in the hot weather .

Boden (yes ... I know but I am over 40) had the long version over the summer .
I bought three pairs . So comfortable and much admired .

I have some of these, just like the Boden lucre but obviously cheaper, £12 from George at Asda, mine are white, bought about two months ago though.

Mine are mid calf length, not sure what length they were meant to be, I am five feet four. They are indeed massively comfy and very flattering.

Oh I think they were very like the Boden trousers but more 'billowy'. It wasn't very breezy that day but the ones I saw were still quite breezy looking. But perhaps the Boden ones are wider than they look in the above image?

The ones I got look like linen joggers not terribly wide but very loose and lovely in the heat . I bought long length and they are just about the ankle .

I have the Boden ones in blue and cream (also in long length), and love them. They are flattering, comfy, and the linen doesn't crease toooo much.

BUT I can't quite get the hang of wearing them. What do you all wear on the top half to stop them looking like PJ bottoms?

I've seen these too and have been fruitlessly been looking online for some. They're a bit like harm pants but not as arse expandingly unflattering.

harem pants! Although harem pants often cause aesthetic harm I suppose.

The bum was more fitted than harem pants.

The Boden ones have a slimmer leg than the ones I saw the tourists? wearing . They were lovely trousers, I've been googling to no avail.

I like the sound of vests with tummy gathering! I'm wearing my blue Boden linen pants today with a fitted white tee and a creamy cropped cardi. I think you're right habi, fitted on top is the way to go...

I found some lovely ones in Monsoon - white linen and a really good fit. Might be worth a look at their sale. Surprisingly flattering, and really useful with lots of different tops.
