I have always been a Next jeans wearer, and find them ok - comfy, fairly flattering. But I want to splash out and get some really great jeans - the sort that will take inches off and make me look a bit less like I'm wearing 'mum jeans'. What brands make great jeans and how much do you pay for them!?

I love Paige jeans, for me the skinny 'Verdugo' is the one I always get. They are about £200 though there are sometimes discounts.

Other than that I wear a brand called MAC (it's not the makeup!) and I like their 'dream skinny' which is £99.

I also wear next leggings jeans!

Skinny/legging type jeans are the mum jeans now.

I'm semi-kidding.

But if mum jeans means
jeans I put on without thinking, without considering whether they suit me or whether they go with the other things I am wearing
then surely skinny jeans can qualify? They've been the default jean shape for around 10 years now.

Look out for sales with expensive branded jeans.

We have a department store (East Anglia) that does a massive discount on jeans in the sale, think from £210 to £75.

Or try Levis.

Oh, I thought you were going to try actual mum jeans.

15yo DD has a pair, they look amazing on her. I haven't tried them on as I know for a fact I would channel my own mother circa 1992.

I agree that skinnies are the mum-jean of now- especially if worn with something arse-covering.
