If I like Moisture Surge

By Clinique, what else would you recommend? My skin is oily, so I love the light hydrating gel feel of Moisture Surge, but it's a bit too pricey for me. My skin is also quite sensitive. Any one have any cheaper alternatives, please?

The only fragrance free one I can think of is indeed labs Hydraluron Jelly, but price wise that isn't too different from Moisture Surge, although they do quite often have an offer on in Boots.

If you are okay with a bit of fragrance, then Botanics Hydration Burst Hydrating Day Cream is a great budget option, and the Garnier Moisture Bomb ones are excellent too.

I am also quite oily and love a light, wet moisturiser. My favourite, which is less gel like but you might like, especially if you are sensitive, is La Roche Posay Toleraine Fluide.

I'm not sure if you can get Neutrogena in the UK, but they make a range called (I think) Hyrdogel which seems very similar to Moisture Surge.

I like moisture surge, but (as recommended by Sali Hughes - guardian beauty) I've just splashed on on Tidal from Sunday Riley.

It's pricy for sure @ £60, but I've found you only need a very small amount.

I've only been using it for 2 days so I add that caveat, but it really is hugely hydrating without being the remotest bit oily.

My skin looks noticeably "plumper" in 48 hrs (prompting a "have you bought some new make up - you look nice" from DH!!!) and it feels far less tight.

I've found as Sali said, you do need to wait a few mins after application to put on make up as it makes your face quite "wet" until it sinks in (again a reason not to use too much).

So far I really like it and can see it being a repeat purchase.

Superdrug Vit E moisture mask (its in a tub).

Its supposed to be used as a leave-on mask at night, but I use it whenever my skin feels bit dry but needs something light and quickly absorbed. Very similar consistency and even colour to Moisture Surge. Cheap as chips, too.

Fabulous, some great recommendations- thank you! I like the sound of the £60 one - but yes, I'm trying to economise at the moment.
Interesting re the Botanics one, I had a quick look online and the reviews aren't great, but two votes in favour here. I might start with that and the Superdrug one and see how I go.......

I like the Vitamin E sorbet from Body Shop. It's a bit of a weird texture to put on but smooths really nicely and has stopped my perma shine. I have quite sensitive skin too.
