What age is too old? If any...

Would love to hear what people wear them with too!

Have seen photos of Helen Mirren wearing one with a long evening dress and looking gorgeous.

Personally I think unless it is a proper biker jacket (ie bike leathers, not a thin leather jacket or pleather) and you are sat in the back of a bike then it looks a bit poser-y.

You are never too old.

It isn't about age, it's specifically about the type of leather jacket. Do you have any particular ones in mind?

If it's a proper one then you are never too old. One of the coolest people I know is a 76 year old biker and he looks like a total badass in his jacket and faded jeans. But he has the persona to carry it off so to speak. Long grey ponytail and beard, patches from his motorcycle club on his jacket buckets of tattoos and a 40 year old bike that is in as good condition as the day it was bought. (Very cool club that does loads of charity work not one of the thug gangs)

On the other hand if you're a middle aged townie type who's never been on a bike and wearing a pleather jacket with tassels all over it I think it looks a bit try hard tbh.

If it suits you wear it!

I'm 45 and have 2 biker jackets, one pale grey (more for summer) the other thicker and black. They go with lots of things, jeans, t-shirts, dresses, boots, trainers... I wear mine loads.

I'm 51 and have a couple. One is DKNY and the other is Reiss, so definitely not authentic. I love them and will be wearing them for ever.

I'm 59 and bought one in Oxfam last week. Strictly speaking, it's bomber rather than biker. Anyway I've worn it every day so far with jeans, slim leg trousers, pencil skirt and tube skirt. Although not all at once.

The older I get, the more I like leather. It breathes; it's supple; it doesn't cling and it has structure. I say it's wasted on young people.

I'm very lazy and have never tried hard in my life.

I would say you're never too old unless you dress old, but it had probably better be a rather battered old jacket rather than a shiny new one - that might look a bit "try hard".

No. You are not.

Leather jackets are brilliant!

Never too old - a shiny patent one or a black distressed one looks better the older you get.

Stay away from brown distressed jackets tho if you are tanned and wrinkly - they can look like you skinned your husband for laffs.

Never too old for leather, hope you bought it. You'll look and feel great in it. Treat yourself to leather trousers and a leather skirt too. Just don't wear those with your jacket. It'd be too much :)

I've got four, and love them. Suspect I'll be wearing them for a good few years yet.

I think as long as they're good quality and a good, flattering cut then they're a brilliant purchase. Whistles and M&S have both got some lovely styles in store at the moment, I think they're timeless!

I'm 53, l have a pale blue leather one, well, sort of a pale denim colour.

I bloody love it, and wear it with pride and don't give a shit about what anyone else thinks😁

Well that was surreal. I was about to fire off a comment, starting reading the other posts and thought one sounded familiar then realised it was me!

I won't say much more lest I be accused of trying too hard but I hope you have found one, op and that it makes you smile whenever you wear it.

I love you too Remus. Smile And your four biker jackets.

Never too old!

That said, I really hate the look of most them on nearly anyone. That whole floral dress with biker jacket thing was done to death a few years ago and never really worked for me anyway. That has nothing to do with age though.

Maybe the ones I've seen people wearing haven't been very nice because they aren't the best quality. There might be some nice ones if you shop around.

Flo - I'm hoping that by the time the January sales come round, it'll be five. This beauty

That's a lovely colour Remus - I think you need one for every day of the week.

Slight digression from bikers but I'm stalking this at the moment though it's already low stock so can't see it ever being reduced:

I just shove the sleeves up, in a 1980s manner.

Flo - lovely colour, but the style would be a disaster on me! It seems very 'you' though, based on previous stuff I've seen you post.
