Those superb, comfy looking, non wired, no scaffold side, enormous, wide strapped, unpadded knocker tamers.

Do they have a real name? (Style)
I don't want to have to ask for old lady bras but I can't find any online.

I've only ever seen them for sale at Skeggy market.

Yeah miss Mary style but no reinforced bits.

I have a miss Mary slip but it takes talc and patience plus an assistant for the hook and eyes

'Triumph' make bras like that. Try the Ambrose Wilson catalogue. They will probably have a website too.

Try www.damart.co.uk/C-243536-bras

The Berlei non-slip looks like the sort of thing you're after.

And the Playtex Cross-Your-Heart is still going!

Doreen are the original ones.
Try somewhere like Fashion World or Miss Mary of Sweden.

I love my triumph Doreen bras. I am usually far to embarrassed that I wear something so old-lady-ish but they are so comfy and wearable. I wear them in the daytime and you cannot tell from my silhouette they are old lady bras at all.

My only point would be that you cannot wear cleavage showing tops with the Doreen bra. It sits quite high on the chest so low cut tops are out.

What about Bravissimo PJ tops for sleeping? They have a very nice comfy built in bra

Lots to choose from at Fifty Plus in your size.

I've ordered two Doreen to try Grin
I had a double mastectomy 20 years and my replacement implants are the newfangled anatomical ones (have corners) which seem heavier and more mobile Hmm

I've been saving for a reduction and lift but sadly the rest of my traitorous body has butted in so now the fund needs to be for a body lift not just boobs Grin

The Triumph Doreen is the world's best selling bra apparently!

Corners? Hence the name legotits? !

I hope Doreen is nice and comfy. I have dreadful scarring in the chestul area, and I now hate all bras. They all rub and annoy me. Luckily I am, erm, modest of nork, so I have reverted to those elasticcy bra tops from Sainsbos . I pretend I wear proper bras 'for best' but I so don't.

Bodies, eh?

Surely, if you get the right silhouette does it really matter what is underneath?

Report
legotits · 30/06/2016 15:35

Aye TheST Grin They feel like dodgy freezer bags full of Lego.... to me.
My Diplomatic P assures me they don't from the outside Hmm

I don't give a toss about my silhouette, I gave that up in 1985 with any notion of exercise Sad I need summat that doesn't chafe the bumps Wink

I'm a bit excited to be getting a Doreen.

You've reminded me I own a Doreen. I'm going to dig it out and see if it still fits, I need desperately a non-wires bra for evenings.
