Bit nervous, hope I don't come out looking like a footballer from the 80s. Ive asked for body, soft waves, gentle curls. Not really looking for a response, just posting because, yknow.

Ooh I've considered this. Pics needed please!

Diamogs Wed 29-Jun-16 07:47:03

Yes pics please - preferably of what you want it to look like and how it turns out.

I was a big fan of the perm in the 80s

SophieofShepherdsBush Wed 29-Jun-16 08:38:14

I don't reallt know how I want it to look! I told my lovely hairdresser I wanted tousled curls as though I had been running along the could be a disaster!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Wed 29-Jun-16 08:39:30

You must post a pic!

SophieofShepherdsBush Wed 29-Jun-16 08:41:57

I think I have this image of myself in my 20s with this hairstyle. Im a bit worried it will age me. Im 38. I might post a pic.....

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Wed 29-Jun-16 08:50:38

You're very brave!

SophieofShepherdsBush Wed 29-Jun-16 08:56:07

Diddlydokey Wed 29-Jun-16 08:57:27

Your hair is gorgeous already shock you only need wide barrelled tongs!

wobblywonderwoman Wed 29-Jun-16 09:11:23

Omg I love your hair

I had a root perm done three years ago. I was happy until it grew out but lots of things I loved about it. Got rid of my oily roots, bit of life to it. Best of luck.

SophieofShepherdsBush Wed 29-Jun-16 10:18:40

Aw shucks thanks guys. My hair is nice but I never style it so always looks messy and often limp. Im hoping the soft perm will give it a bit of bounce.....I'm here now, no going back.....

Liiinoo Wed 29-Jun-16 12:16:29

I've been thinking about doing the same so I am eager to see the results.

SophieofShepherdsBush Wed 29-Jun-16 14:41:52

Ok so it's a bit perm y....

SophieofShepherdsBush Wed 29-Jun-16 14:42:26

But she assures me it will soften.....

Diddlydokey Wed 29-Jun-16 14:43:55

Picture or it didn't happen

Queenbean Wed 29-Jun-16 14:44:26

Are perms still of the old type or have they updated them to something much softer? How long does it last for?

Picture please op!

SophieofShepherdsBush Wed 29-Jun-16 14:51:39

Here you go.

ClaraLane Wed 29-Jun-16 14:52:00

I'm sure it'll look lovely! I'm only 26 but I've had at least 3 perms and I love them! The first few weeks are always a bit crappy but it looks gorgeous afterwards, I love how low maintenance it is too, just wash and go.

SophieofShepherdsBush Wed 29-Jun-16 14:53:15

It's also been blown to buggery by a gale so my messy look is back anywsy.

Diddlydokey Wed 29-Jun-16 14:54:24

A little bit of calming down to do but it looks pretty good for the first day

MyBeard Wed 29-Jun-16 14:56:20

Oh I always assumed perms were still like the massive curly do's my mum got done 20 years ago! You've sort of tempted me op..

SophieofShepherdsBush Wed 29-Jun-16 14:57:36

Phew. I was a bit alarmed at first but I think it will be nice.
