Is there a blonde henna equivalent?

I've often wondered this. I realise henna itself is a red base but I mean more the method and result than the dye base if that make sense?! As in, something I can put on my slightly dull blonde hair that will make it brighter and golden without bleaching it? That is also fairly generic rather than me trying to figure out what colour my hair is and then match it on a box so I can figure out what colour I want it to be. As I'm truly crap at that.

Cassia obvata might do what you want??

"Cassia obovata is commonly confused with henna and mistakenly known as "colourless henna" or “neutral henna” though in fact it comes from an altogether different plant. When crushed, it looks similar to henna leaf powder but is lighter in colour. It promotes healthy, soft and shining hair, and is also reputed to help clear dandruff. Cassia obovata is for deep hair conditioning and, on blonde hair, it will naturally highlight the blonde without changing hair colour (on darker hair colours it will not impart any noticeable colour). Cassia obovata can be combined with rhubarb root for an even deeper hair conditioning treatment and to further enhance golden blonde tones. And it can be combined with just a touch of pure henna for strawberry blonde, and with acacia catechu for dark blonde."

Rhubarb root? Who knew?! Grin

I used to use rhubarb root to lighten my hair, I bought it from Culpeper. Wonder where you can get it from now?

Ooh Pacific that looks like it would be my wonder stuff!
Now, can I buy it nicely packaged with clear instructions for use I wonder?

The site I linked to was the first hit on google - I don't know them as such.

HennaCat and HennaBoy both are highly rated.

I'm a primitive, non-blond LUSH henna woman, myself! Sorry, I have no personal experience.

Avigal which you can purchase on eBay and Amazon have blonde shades. I use just for redheads henna and I use a mix of champagne and strawberry blonde henna so I am guessing champagne would work for you. It's expensive and so is postage as it's from the US Avigal is more reasonable.

You can buy both cassia and rhubarb powder from Hennaboy.
