Sorry as I expect this has been done to death but I'm really struggling to find the info.

My beloved pair of 10 year old GHD's have blown up and are no more so I need to get another set that will take my unruly hair.

What is the best these days? I have thick, frizzy, coarse hair that requires industrial heat to wrestle it into something that doesn't resemble Crystal Tipps. I'd heard GHD had had their day but I have no idea what to get now. I can't be doing with something hat just won't work. Hair is shoulder length at present but likely to be cut after the summer.

Please help!!

I read the same thing about ghd's when mine broke and I needed a new pair. I went with ghd's again and they are just the same. I have the wide plates as I have very long, thick hair. Not sure if the thinner ones are different now? I got mine at gatwick airport when we went on holiday last year so they were slightly cheaper.

I have curly hair that I've recently had straightened with a keratin treatment. I use Trevor Sorbie Professional ones and I absolutely love them

Everyone at my hair salon is raving about Cloud 9s, which have apparently been invented by one of the guys who first set up GHDs. He's apparently now set up his own company and developed his ideas for products further. I had my hair straightened with them today and they did seem pretty good.

Apparently main thing is that the better ones have different temperature settings. Mine go up to 235.

Ooh, a couple of recommendations there. I'd heard about cloud 9 I think. Any other recommendations?
