What's Mac Studio Fix powder foundation like?

I have quite sensitive skin & seem to break out in spots from liquids. I react to alcohol & silicone so can't use primers & foundations that are dewy have silicone in them. I'm ok with powder foundations. I am NC20 which is a good colour match but wondered if the finish is very matte. I don't have oily skin. I'm normal skin type with fine lines & sensitive.

I wore it for years before switching to something a little glowier, it's fine although there might be better formulations out there now?

I used to wear it when I was younger and my skin was oilier. It's quite a heavy, matte coverage and prone to oxidise (turn orange) so I would avoid if you have any fine lines or dry patches. Have you considered a mineral foundation powder like Lily Lolo or Bare Minerals? I know you don't want a liquid but the new(ish) bare minerals serum foundation is silicone free I believe and a nice glowy texture

Thank you. I'm in Australia & haven't seen Lily LoLo here. I dried try the bare minerals serum foundation but I didn't like it. Their powders have bismuth in them which I've heard can cause reactions.
I'm going to go back to Clinique's Amost powder make up & Jane Iredale mineral powder as I am ok with them.
I just wish I could find a liquid that I can use.

I used Jane Iredale when my skin was playing up, some lovely golden tones shades and a much better formula than Bare Minerals (that stuff left me looking as metallic as the tinman).

It's better than Mac Studio Fix too, imo.

I use it, I've been using it for the last 15 years at least, since my early 20s but it's time for me to look for something else, it's a bit too matte for me now....will follow this thread with interest...
