I'm not sure if everyone knows and I've just been living under a rock but I recently figured out that you can use normal nail varnish with it.

I couldn't be bothered with the whole bottom coat + drying time
two colour coats + drying time
top coat + drying time

So I used normal nail varnish (as in not gel), as I had lots left from my pre-gel days, then just applied the gel top coat and dried it under the UV and it actually looks better than when done with all gel as there are less layers. It seems to last longer too!
