DD wants to donate her hair..

I am aware of the Little Princess Trust who make wigs for children who have lost hair through chemotherapy. Are there any charities in the UK who also produce wigs for children who are affected by alopecia or burns?

I donated my hair a few years ago. I gave mine to the little princess trust. I believe that they don't just provide to chemo patients but children who have lost their hair through other illnesses too. Their tag line is "providing real hair wigs for children suffering with hair loss". They provide sponsor forms and she will get a certificate after.
There is also wigs for kids and locks of love, both seem to have a similar ethos but don't know much else about them.

My little girl donated 15 inches of her hair which went to the little princess trust, I read up on the various charities and as far as I'm aware, princess trust make wigs for boys and girls who have lost their hair for any reason, not just to chemotherapy. What a kind daughter you have :)

My DD did this too, again for the Little Princess Trust - they definitely produce wigs for all sorts of reasons. DD raised sponsorship as well, the hairdresser kindly donated the cost of the cut and all the ladies having their hair done that day also donated as well as lots of family and friends. She was so pleased to help make someone else happy and is very proud of the certificate she was sent. She is now growing her hair again.

I think it is a lovely thing for them to do and your DD sounds very kind and thoughtful.

My DD did this last year when she was 8, we also sent her hair to Little Princess Trust, she also raised money.

I think it is so special that children want to help others in this way

Thanks for the replies, I had only browsed the Little Princess Trust Facebook page. I'm pleased to see they help with children with other conditions. DD has wanted to do it since a senior girl at her old dance school donated hers. I think we'll do it at the end of term so it will grow another inch or so
Well done to you Nurse Rosie, and Mamabird 15 inches is incredible, DD hopes to donate 8 inches. Garlicbread and August Rose, raising money at the same time is a wonderful gesture.
It is lovely hearing that so many people have got behind this cause. I had alopecia areata many years ago, I had bald patches but my hair grew back. I feel very thankful my hair loss wasn't permanent.
