Dare I ask about QVC Beauty?

Because I find it really quite distracting.
So far I've been (almost) convinced to buy from the Laura Geller range, Mally Beauty, OPI, Nails Inc and SBC to name a few
Do you have any experience of these products?
Tell me whats good and what's not worth the money.

I love a bit of QVC beauty, I can while away ages whilst engrossed in it! I don't have any experience of those brands I'm afraid but I'm sure someone will be along soon who has.

I love Laura geller balance and brighten and have some mally cosmetics too

If you keep an eye out for the daily tsv you can get some good prices on elemis/decleor/Liz Earle/Gatineau skincare

I like the Laura Geller base products, but find the eye and lip products to be distinctly average (and very overpriced).

OPI is a good brand and QVC offer decent prices.

As for value. I tend to buy mostly the TSVs. I work out if I will use everything and if it is good value to me then I buy. I love liz Earle stuff so bought today's TSV as it was very good value as I will use everything in the set.

I love QVC beauty. I have a Laura Geller primer that I like

Thanks everyone, I didn't think I'd get such a quick response.
I really fancy trying the Balance & Brighten, but then I saw a lovely LG Bronzer today, the primer looks amazing too. I also need a really good under eye concealer (the shadows under my eyes have their own gravitational pull Blush) I like the look of the Bare Minerals one and the Mally one, just wodered if anyone else had found a decent one on there

Haven't bought from them in years but I tell you what was a really big selling point for me. The fact you can try things for almost a whole moth and if you don't like it you can send it back and they give you a full refund. Shock

So that moisturiser you paid £££ for that broke you out after a week? Back it goes. The pink lipstick that looked amazing on to but makes you look like a corpse? Off it pops. Brilliant.
Think it's how they do things in the US.

Month not moth obviously.

Leighton Denny nail stuff is amazing.

Yes, absolutely take advantage of the 30 day money back promise - order a few different things and decide which suit you - much better than just trying a tester in boots Smile

I tried bare minerals once, but balance and brighten is better, and easier to use imho

Ah, I never thought of it that way! I'll give it a go

Enid- you can return things in the UK. Boots are amazing at returns as is Debenhams. People just dont think you can so don't.

QVC is over priced and even when it's on special the p and p bumps the price back up. It's always cheaper elsewhere.

As a form of entertainment though,it's fabGrin

I buy from qvc. Have returned stuff that didn't suit. I find once I add p&p it's same as high street shops but some of the brands I like (Elemis and sarah Chapman) do good sets which make the products a lot cheaper.

I love QVC , I have watched it since the late 90s.

I wish they'd offer lower P&P/ Free P&P especially to long term/high rate purchasers though.
But I bought something for my Mum a while ago , had it sent to my address. It cost less for the P&P to me than it did for post from me to my Mum.

So- Beauty:
I really really don't like make-up counters, they intimidate me. I find the Sales Staff either ignore me or overwhelm me.
I am nearly 50, I dress well, I have some disposable income.
I go to places like Mac (for my DD) , no-one even acnowledges I'm there. Not a "Can I help you", nothing.
I like to watch the demos on QVC (though I take with a huge pinch of salt when they say "Oh I use this every day" to everything)
And one particular presenter bugs the t*ts off me so I cannot watch shows with her without the sound down.

There are things I wouldn't even look at instore but seeing on QVC, I might look out for.

Having said that, they do have some utter crap at times Grin

Love opi!

All qvc stuff come with a thirty day money back guarantee as mentioned. So you can use 3/4 of the bottle and then send back, eat half the food, wear shoes every day for a month, even jewellery and underwear

Only really go for the nail products tbh. Nails Inc is pretty rubbish but Opi is really good - long lasting, decent price and great value.

I also like the Bare Minerals range.

Another huge plus for me - when I buy from QVC , I know the products have come straight from the warehouse (ok, some of it might have been sitting a while if they're clearance) but I've bought things from Boots, got them home and found the seal open or a bloody great finger mark in it.
Now I always check they're sealed.

I love Mally mascara, it's the best I've used, I'm waiting for a trio (they did a pack of six once) to save P&P.

If you are interested in the LG Balance and Brighten definitely buy it this month as there is a supersize version for a very good price. 20g for approx £30 whereas the standard 9g is around £22. I've found it miles better than Bare Minerals.

talkingtoclarry · 28/05/2016 23:31

Plus it's on easy pays so only a tenner plus P&P to try it (ha, that just rolled off too easily, need to stop watching!)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/05/2016 23:43

Grin talking you should apply for a job there as a presenter.

It's worth watching for Axel Ruth (Flora Mare skincare) he's like a cross between David Walliams and Julian Clary with a really wicked twinkle in his eye Wink

Actually, there are two presenters that bug the t*ts off me but one I switch off. not just mute Grin

I buy lots! Got the Liz Earle one yesterday. I love tarte make up and there is a TSV of that coming up. I used to get Molton brown but not done that recently. I don't like Mally or Gatineau but Decleor and Elemis are good.

I didn't get on with Laura Geller but have tried and sent back.

And I disagree that the shops are cheaper. Liz Earle yesterday had a £66 saving compared to John Lewis and ordering from them direct.

Ooh 70 which presenter? I can't stand most if them and think they spend too long waffling about comforting on the skin when I'd much rather they rattled through more products. the beauty expert is the worst for shouting and interrupting
