I read on a thread recently that people were using Bare Minerals to cover Rosacea. Which one of their foundations is best please? TIA

Hi on a recent thread people were saying about how good one of the bare minerals products were for covering and not effecting Rosacea. I can't find the thread!! Would you mid saying which they were? I think it was the compact powder- but don't want to spend ££ on the wrong one! Thanks Grin

I bought the Ready compact by Bare Minerals and I hate it. I think I threw it away, it was awful. Powdery, cakey, I just couldn't get on with it no matter how much I used or buffed it. I always go back to Max Factor Facefinity compact, it's fab! I've repurchased it about 10 times.

I use Bare Minerals for rosacea & I LOVE it. Couldnt ask for a better range that suits me anyway. I have built up quite the collection. I use both the original foundation which is in power form & the Ready compact. I have the primer & a couple of different concealers for my red cheeks & nose! Its is so buidable. You can have a nice light cover to build it to a heavier look. I couldnt ask for better.

I recommend that you attend a bare minerals counter & get them to apply it for you & ask for some samples to take home before you invest. Every foundation doesnt suit every skin so try before you buy!

The ready compact doesn't have as good a colour selection. I can't get a match in it. But I've used the original for years. It's all in the application. I use a fluffy brush all over them a denser brush (I think the real techniques face brush with orange handle) around my nose etc.

I use it to cover rosacea (when I can afford it) and have always used the original powder foundation, concealer and mineral veil (they used to do a starter pack with these plus a few brushes). I also had a lovely blusher and eyebrow pencil from there. I got a sample of the compact powder but I didn't like it so much. It didn't really cover as well.

When I'm feeling thrifty I use a Loreal mineral powder which is quite good and not as expensive as BM.

Yes, the original powder for me too. Covers it really well Smile

I don't have rosacea but do have rosy cheeks that I like to tone down. Love, love, love the neutralising primer and team it with the original foundation, then the warmth all over face colour to warm it up a bit.

I use Lilylolo, which is more affordable. I also use dermalex cream to treat the rosacea. Lilylolo lets you order samples so you don't waste too much on wrong colours

The yellow primer plus the original foundation is good for me.

I would avoid bare minerals at all costs. Worst make up product I've ever used!

Oh yes the warmth thing too. Forgot that in my post.

fuckyou that's funny, my sister says the same as you! It brings her out in a horrible rash. But it's my favourite make up and I've tried most of them. Just shows how some products suit some people and not others.

Sister does not have rosacea btw OP.

I bought Bare Minerals for rosacea coverage, got it applied at counter and thought it looked great so bought it then and there. Really wished I hadn't, it went all cakey and horrible on my skin after a couple of hours.
I use Lily Lolo now, much better coverage and a good £10 cheaper than Bare Minerals. Can buy on Feel Unique with free P&P.
Think it's all horses for courses really and just have to try and see if it suits you, if you go and get it put on you at a Bare Minerals counter give it a few hours to see if it does really suit your skin before shelling out for it.

I prefer Lilylolo. The bismuth in BM might irritate so get the matte version as it's not in it.

Have rosacea, BM does not work for me. What I do for everyday is Estée Lauder doublewear concealer just on the apples of my cheeks (where the rosacea is) and then Smashbox halo powder everywhere.

Another vote for Lily Lolo! Brilliant stuff - much better for my skin than BM, and much cheaper too. Smile

Have you tried a green corrector for rosacea? It cancels out the redness.

I have used IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness and also their CC Foundation. Both are incredibly covering and reasonable in price. The CC foundation is 50 spf and all natural ingredients. Invented by a woman with severe rosacea and you can see You Tube demos. Some IT products are now available from QVC, with more to come I assume. I got mine from America and you can order online through a beauty website.

Also voting for Lily Lolo. Their blusher and eyeshadows are great too. The lipstick is great, but the colours aren't represented very well - you need to check out the images of people actually wearing them before ordering.

Does anyone know which LilyLolo color matches BareMinerals Fairly Medium?

I found the Paula's choice range really good for my rosacea - used with azaelic acid cream from dr and my redness and spots massivly reduced- if I don't use it for a few days problems come back but I had yucky red skin with pussicles on skin - now have no spots at all and skin almost normal - I dare not use foundation on it and find I don't need to now as skin cleared up - takes about 2 weeks but the Paula's choice cleanser and toner for rosacea - think it's 2% acid one really worked and was only thing to work!!

Similar question to WeeMadArthur, anyone know which lilylilo colour is a good dupe for BM medium beige? I've used BM for years on my super sensitive eczema skin and love it, but need to pull back the spending for a bit! Thanks :)

I can't get on with bare minerals but the Clinique cream for redness is fab and doesn't irritate my skin in the slightest! All foundations go on much better when I use it. Can't remember exactly what it's called but it's the green cream in a pot for £40.
