Things that are worth getting from The Body Shop

Haven't shopped there for ages but trying out the ginger shampoo from The Body Shop as recommended on here and got suckered into getting the loyalty card and keep getting bombarded with offers. What is there that is worth trying? I get psoriasis but otherwise normal skin for someone in their thirties.

I've recently bought the drops of youth (great name!) went in for the oils of life after reading good reviews in here but decided in this instead. I use it in the morning after cleansing and before moisturiser. My skin feels a lot smoother and looks brighter after a couple of weeks.

Nothing much these days. I used to get a lot of products from there but they seem to use cheaper ingredients these days and the oils and fragrances seem to have a really synthetic smell. They've even messed with the hemp hand cream that I used to swear by.

The Oils of Life range has transformed my skin from a but dull and dry to glowy and perfectly smooth.

I also really rate the Vitamin E hydrating mask even though I don't like the smell. It's incredibly nourishing and the gel texture feels lovely on the skin.

If you're pale, their honey bronzer in the lightest shade is brilliant.

Don't buy their eyeshadows - utter crap.

I really like their born lippy lip balm. I'm not one for lipstick but they give a subtle tint and keep lips moisturisers an nice flavours too.

Their masks are really good. I've not tried the Vitamin E one mentioned above but the Aloe Soothing Rescue Cream Mask (I don't use as directed. I slap it on in a thick layer for half an hour in the bath and rinse off) and the heating mud mask are excellent.

I also like the coco butter body scrub, satsuma body butter, the shower gels and the Red Musk perfume.

The Vitamin E face cream - they have made it for 20 years now, and it's still en excellent face cream, really good for dry skin.

If you have a DH, their shaving cream is still one of the best, my DH has used it for 18 years now.

I only shop when the email me with 40% off offers, or sometimes 35%. It happens pretty – I sometimes think they're permanently desperate and on the verge of going under.

I buy the same things all the time:

  • body scrubs; smell amazing, especially the pink grapefruit, coconut and raspberry.
  • waterproof eye make-up remover (I've tried SO many inferior ones).
  • honey and oat scrub mask for my face and neck; smells delicious.
  • rose hand cream; not the most moisturising one I've found, but it has SPF15.
  • huge bottles of pink grapefruit shower gel; very good value at that size and DP and I both love it, so get through a fair bit.

Occasionally I diversify into their shampoos and conditioners. I'm not totally blown away by them (but then again I'm not particularly fussy about hair stuff), but they're fine, smell nice and are good value with that big discount.

Oops. I meant 'It happens pretty frequently'

I also shop on 40% off offers. I love:

  • Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil (the balm is nice too but I prefer the oil)
  • Almond hand cream
  • Oils of Life range is lovely (particularly like the sleeping mask)
  • nude lip liner

I had a sniff of the new Piñata Colada range at the weekend and the body butter is next on my list, it smelled lovely.

Oh, mention of Piñata Colada reminds me –the virgin mojito stuff is nice (I like the body scrub), although it's usually excluded from offers. Maybe they'll start including it as it becomes less new, IYSWIM.

I like the banana conditioner. Vit E moisturiser is good too but I have replaced recently with Liz Earle superskin
