This is for my mum, she needs help!
Wedding in the summer in a castle. The invitation says black tie / evening dress. My mum is 5ft1, size 10, she is 61 but looks about 40. Dark brown hair olive skin. She has looked and looked but can't find anything to buy, so, style and beauty gurus, can you find my mum a frock?

Have you looked at House of Fraser or Phase Eight?

I think it's the lack of info OP Wink

Any clues about what sort of colours she might like/hate? Is she after full length? Would she have something altered if necessary or prefer to just buy from a petite range? Would she like full length or is shorter ok too? Some idea of maximum budget would help too.

how about navy full length with lacy sleeves?

Phase 8 is a bit floral for my mum and probably not dressy enough. She has looked at HoF but not seen anything. She is struggling because evening dress is not the norm for a wedding and we don't really know what to look for!

Sorry pc decided to update mid post!
Probably no black, definitely no white, max budget probably about £350 ( more if amazing)
She is not sure about length because of the evening dress / black tie thing.
Flowing flowery stuff is not her at all, she shops in places like whistles, jaeger, cos & lk Bennett and prefers more structured. Probably shouldn't have put her age as she does look genuinely at least 20 years younger!
I think she would like midi length worn with high shoes

What she has in mind is fitted top with biggish skirt that is midi kind of length

Lindy bop is a definite no, not her type of thing at all!

I don't think a jump suit will be dressy enough. She doesn't really know the people who's wedding it is but she thinks it's going to be super glam!

The shape and material are really nice but she wouldn't like the cut out bits, she would feel too old for cut out bits ( despite her flat tummy!)

I feared as much. She could have them filled with the fabric she'll need taking off the bottom, but I'd want a dress to be perfect for that price really too.

I like the Hobbs dress but I don't think she would like the swishy over material, it's not her type of thing and I think she needs something a bit longer
