A woman sliced my foot today at pedicure. I am in agony, cant walk. Wwyd?

HolyShitballsBatman Sat 14-May-16 18:48:39

Ow! Fuck!!

HolyShitballsBatman Sat 14-May-16 18:49:10

Sorry, that was not helpful. What did you do at the time? Did you say anything?

Lndnmummy Sat 14-May-16 18:49:14

I am so upset, it is my first child free weekend for over a year, gone to stay with a friend. We had a lovely weekend plan, pedicure was first stop. Ended up being the last. It is so sore.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon Sat 14-May-16 18:49:29

Blimey, that looks awful. Hope you got a refund for the pedicure. Did she say sorry?

Hopefully it will heal quickly and you'll be walking ok very soon. If not I would contact her again and tell her how bad it is.

I'd go to a walk in clinic or minor emergencies clinic and have that cleaned up and get a tetanus jab if you haven't had one in years and years.

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia Sat 14-May-16 18:49:54

how long has it been bleeding?

AgathaMystery Sat 14-May-16 18:50:49

I'd honestly go to urgent care sad not for any other reason than you may not know if they used a fresh blade. If they didn't you might need a tetanus. I do not say this to be awful but simply because in past I used a grim salon before I knew better. hmm

Take some pics and see how you recover. I would also contact the salon. I presume they knew they'd injured you? You poor thing. flowers

OMG lndn that looks agonising. I know it's Saturday but can you see a dr, I'd be wanting antibiotics incase what ever they used to torture you with wasn't clean flowers

Is it a large company? The trading standards, council, professional bodies if applicable need notifying. Jesus I,m horrified.

Definitely get to A&E and have it seen to. Then if it happens to get worse you have it reported and can take action against the pedicurist. I thought only proper podiatrists/chiropodists used scalpels (if thats how it happened), so they shouldnt have even been doing that!

Lndnmummy Sat 14-May-16 18:54:32

Been bleaeding for most of the day on and off. Went to walk in clinic aftee advice frm boots pharmacist. Gave up as was 3 hour wait and so busy no chairs, cant stand for 3 hours. Might go to a&e. Do you think? Dont want to waste time. It is so sore

SpaghettiMeatballs Sat 14-May-16 18:54:43

Oh my goodness. That looks awful. What on earth were they attempting to do you when that happened?

I love a pedicure but have never had a blade used. They use files.

Lndnmummy Sat 14-May-16 18:56:30

Yes she used a bladesad

expatinscotland Sat 14-May-16 18:59:41

Go back to walk in clinic and sit on the floor. You go to A&E and you may be there a lot longer than 3 hours.

Coldtoeswarmheart Sat 14-May-16 18:59:54

Was the blade single-use (not used on anyone else), or did you see it come out of a sterilising solution before it was used on you?

TheRollingCrone Sat 14-May-16 19:00:35

Yes, yes please go to A&E now. Oh I,m so sorry your lovely weekend ended like this sad. That is just an awful state your foot is in.

GreenMarkerPen Sat 14-May-16 19:11:04

absolutely get it seen to.
it looks really sore, hope it's better soon.

Nospringflower Sat 14-May-16 19:14:34

It looks sore but I think I'd just leave it and see if it improves. Would definitely take photos and complain though.

ScarlettDarling Sat 14-May-16 19:18:10

You poor thing! I've never seen anything like that from a pedicure, what on earth did she say when she realised she'd hurt you like that?

TheRollingCrone Sat 14-May-16 19:27:59

What if it was an unclean blade? No that needs seen to. I can't look at the pic without getting the complete horrors.

Lndnmummy Sat 14-May-16 19:32:07

I am so upset, my friends lovely lovely dad is taking me to get it seen, better get there before the night crowds. It is throbbing and really sore.

TheRollingCrone Sat 14-May-16 19:33:44

twirlypoo Sat 14-May-16 19:36:33

Oh bless you, I hope you get seen soon and you feel better really quickly. I've never had a pedicure with a blade before - what did you / she say at the time?

SpaghettiMeatballs Sat 14-May-16 19:45:30

I hope they sort it for you OP and you don't have to wait long. flowers

itsbetterthanabox Sat 14-May-16 19:54:04

Get it seen and soak in salt water.
It isn't legal for beauty therapists to use a blade to remove hard skin. You need to make a complaint about this. It's terrible practice. Was this a fairly cheap place?
I hope it heals quickly. flowers
