Bardot off the shoulder tops. Is it just me...

... Or are they incredibly annoying to wear? Have tried a few on now in different shops, but whenever I move an arm, the elastic acted bit just rides up my shoulder. I'd be forever pulling the top down over my shoulders. Any one else found this? Is there a solution to stop it happening, or do these tops only look good on models in photos because they are standing still?

It is very annoying! I really love the look of them on the models, but can bare the thought of hoiking top down every five mins!

I agree. In fact, I sent the only one I owned to the charity shop a few weeks back!

Hmm I love the idea of them as I like my shoulders. I even got a bra last year that can convert to strapless cos I fancied getting my shoulders out ("cold shoulder" at least). I thought it might be a discrete nod to showing a very small amount of flesh in the summer, with a midi or maxi skirt.

However

  • bra is very uncomfortable esp without straps

-I have serious need for support
-bare shoulders doesn't feel appropriate for work
-buxom barmaid look doesn't in fact seem right for anything I do
-why are these tops almost always polyester if they are going to be worn height of summer
-there is usually too much flesh on show in the designs unless you are on the pull at a festival or on a beach
  • the Bardot ones tend to be rather constrictive round the top of my arms - not I think because they are too small but because of the general design of having the neckline there - which is not a good look and is not comfortable

So I haven't got one yet...

I bought a nice dress but considering my tits are my best feature it doesn't do much for them tbh

Has anyone found one that doesn't ping up when you move? :-)

Double sided bra tape is your friend here....

I have bought one top and one dress with this style. Both Zara, both inexpensive, both awaiting my Greek island holiday. Probably over a swimsuit.

Yes! I bought one last year as it looked so nice online, tried it on, all good, went to put my hair up and the shoulders pinged up around my neck! Looked so stupid, I don't know how women wear them!

iwontwearsludgebrown.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/how-to-do-off-shoulder-thingy.html

read this blog entry and you'll find a solution halfway down (safety-pinning in an elastic hairband to sit under the armpit and prevent up-ride).

Genius! She is a very down-to-earth, stylish blogger too.
