Holdups that really work

With the hot weather here, I'm going to have to leave the opaques at home - but I hate bare legs and I spend a fortune on Canestan last summer when I wore low denier and "nude" tights.
I tried some expensive Wolford holdups last week - OK for sitting about and office work but buggers walking down the street and on the tube because they slip down.
I know all the tips about no moisturiser - but am I the only one who can't get them to stay up? I'm size 12 with normal size 12 thighs (shaved, normal skin).
I have never used suspenders and don't have confidence in them.
Does anyone wear them daily for work and which are the best brands? My colleague swears by Pretty Polly but these are hard to find.

I came on to recommend Wolford! Oroblu are also good for hold ups....they ladder more easily though. But cheaper.

StockingsHQ have Pretty Polly. Never been a fan of holdups myself, just stick to a proper 6 or 8 suspender belt.

It could try suspender tights too, they are't that easy to find though. WiIl look.

I get on fine with asda ones, they look like bare legs but better and at £4 for 2 pairs aren't too crippling on the purse when they ladder. Also as they look like bare legs a small ladder isn't that noticeable if you catch then during the day.

I also find that if they start to slip (who is only when they are old or trying to gat a second day out of them Blush) hairspray works wonders. Spray a small amount on your leg where the silicone sticky bit goes then stick them back on your leg, saved me many a time

this sort of thing. There seems to be a reasonable few about in black, less in nude. I've not used them myself but I'm reliably informed that they stay up as well as tights that stay up, as long as the sizing is right.

I've been wearing Boots own hold ups - they're really nice. Great light tan colour and the perfect fit on my size 10-12 thighs!

Wear Falke or Tranparenze and they are fine.

Especially if you wash them after one wear.

House of Fraser own brand are comfortable and stay up ok, but they only last about six wears.
