Casual, my office isn't casual enough for maxi dresses but yours might be different!

Casual. It's not smart enough for my office.

Casual. I sometimes wear more informal stuff to work in summer like chinos but that looks too beachy to me.

Def not work.

It would be seen as dressed up where I work. Everywhere is different.

I want something to wear to work to cover my legs. I work in schools so can get away with casual. Think it might be too beachy - yes.

I've never seen anyone at work in a maxi dress. I have no idea why. Maybe it's too difficult to find a balance between beachy casual and formal event?

Casual - I don't recall having seen any of the teachers at our school in a maxi dress. An alternative might be culottes or capri pants if you are prepared to show a bit of leg?

Yes I might have to go with capris but I don't have any!

I wore a maxi dress to work about 5 years ago as a teacher. Wouldn't wear one now though for anything.

You could wear it to work with flip flops and a cropped denim jacket at my place.

Although a bloke once wore a onesie to an office I was working in and no one batted an eye..!

I think it would look less beachy / more worky in a darker colour and in a material other than jersey.

I think you don't see many maxi dresses at work because if you're curvy they make you look a bit hippyish, and if you're curveless like me you look like a child in a nightgown. They look perfect, I think, on women with long legs and perfect ankles and moderate boobs with a knack for finding just the right accessories.

Yes I don't think I'm tall (or elegant) enough to pull it off at work. Will think again.

Work when it's consistently over 25 degrees all day (am a teacher)

A maxi skirt and a top is usually easier for casual-but-not-beachy than a maxi dress. Button through maxi skirts are very teachery indeed in these parts.

Where could I get a nice maxi skirt from?

I had a lovely jersey maxi skirt from Joules last summer. Wore it with everything.

Maybe monsoon. Might not be plain enough though

Or Phase Eight

Depends what sort of style you're after, they're all over the place ATM. What sort of thing do you usually wear?

asos is never a bad place to start, or the department stores.

Maxis are banned where I work on health and safety grounds.

I usually wear jersey dresses, but knee length. I'm not getting my legs out this year though!

I have one long tshirt dress from hush which is good as it's not too dressy or beachy. Keep checking their website as I'd buy another, but they have none in this year yet.

Will take a look at those shops on the links though - thankyou.
