All Saints Poseidon dress - should I or shouldn't I?!

I cannot decide.

It's turned up on ebay and I love the print.
But a little internet searching came up with this MN thread from some years ago.
I will never manage to actually get it on, will I?
grin

Gawn, MN Style Gurus, make a decision for me!

PacificDogwod Fri 06-May-16 10:58:54

Here it is

Helgathehairy Fri 06-May-16 11:46:37

It's a beautiful dress but that picture on the listing looks like a promo picture so I'd wonder if the seller couldn't get it on either!

PacificDogwod Fri 06-May-16 11:51:59

Hm, yes, I've been wondering too whether she had wrestled unsuccessfully one too many times with the dress and went 'Right! That's enough!! Off you go to ebay!' grin

I did think though that the pictures with the white background were hers, and not promo?

There's a dark grey/black version too, but a size 10… <sucks in stomach>

burnishedsilver Fri 06-May-16 11:53:07

Give it a miss. You'll end up trying to re-ebay it.

PacificDogwod Fri 06-May-16 11:54:10

Yes. That had occurred to me too…

But I want it! And I want to love it!!

Darn you all for being so sensible and thank you. I needed that cake

Ilovetorrentialrain Fri 06-May-16 13:09:29

What if it's the wee'd-on dress for the other thread? smile

PacificDogwod Fri 06-May-16 13:11:25

shock

It could be, couldn't it?! That had not occurred to me…
I could send the seller a question grin

I'm still loving the print.

Maybe I should be the size 10 one and cut it apart for the material alone. Snip, snip.

Ilovetorrentialrain Fri 06-May-16 13:19:37

I'm kidding!

I've just looked for the dress on Gogle images to get a good look. The print is indeed absolutely gorgeous!

AS don't do much print, but when they do... wow.

PacificDogwod Fri 06-May-16 13:30:59

I've just sent a message asking her whether she found it easy to put on.

Dammit, I am still interested!

itstheyearzero Fri 06-May-16 13:43:24

I bought a top from there and I had to send it back because I couldn't for the life of me work out how to put the bloody thing on!

Ilovetorrentialrain Fri 06-May-16 17:58:21

Ooh - any reply? I think it's one where there are a few different ways to wear it...

PacificDogwod Fri 06-May-16 18:05:28

Yes! Just got a reply.
Wearable apparently a number of different ways, she only ever used 2, one of which was back to front grin

Not sure what to do.
I do love the print but it's still a fair bit of money for a used item.
I wonder how thick or flimsy the silk might be?

<goes away to count pennies>

Floisme Fri 06-May-16 18:06:41

That print is stunning but I can only see one pic of anyone actually wearing it and to be honest, I don't think it does that much for her - and she's presumably a model.

PacificDogwod Sat 07-May-16 11:08:24

I did not bid for it and now somebody else got it and I am upset.

Irrational, moi?!
grin

There is a nice butterfly one….

YvaineStormhold Sat 07-May-16 15:38:05

That was me grin

I gave it to my niece in the end.

She never wore it, either grin

PacificDogwod Sat 07-May-16 15:40:18

Really?!

I was wondering whether the MNer from the thread about how difficult it was to put on, was still around.

I had a narrow escape, then, yes? Pardon the pun grin

YvaineStormhold Sat 07-May-16 15:47:34

Yep. I can't believe that was 6 years ago! Jeez.

Yes, you had a narrow escape. It was a beautiful print, though.

PacificDogwod Sat 07-May-16 15:51:32

The butterfly print is just as luck but I am sure the dress will be just as much of a pain. And that ebay offering is twice the price, so am really not interested.

Thanks for coming on this thread grin

PacificDogwod Sat 07-May-16 15:51:54

lush, the print is lush, not luck hmm

YvaineStormhold Sat 07-May-16 15:56:49

S'alright! I can't believe people still remember that thread.

Made me smile, remembering.

YvaineStormhold Sat 07-May-16 15:57:42

Same problem, I'm guessing, looking at that pic. Gorgeous fabric, wasted on a crap frock.
